Use your iPhone or iPad as a keyboard on Apple TV
If you prefer not to enter text using the Apple TV remote, you can set up a nearby iPhone or iPad to share its keyboard whenever a text field appears on Apple TV. Make sure the iPhone or iPad and Apple TV are both signed in with the same Apple Account, and that Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi are enabled on the iPhone or iPad.
Note: The iPhone or iPad must meet certain requirements. See the Apple Support article System requirements for Continuity features on Apple devices.
Use an iPhone or iPad to type on Apple TV
Whenever a text field appears on Apple TV, a notification appears on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap the notification and enter text in the iOS or iPadOS keyboard that appears.
Text you enter on the device automatically appears in the text field on Apple TV.
Turn off the Apple TV keyboard on iOS or iPadOS
If you don’t want your iPhone or iPad to be used as a keyboard for Apple TV, you can turn off keyboard notifications on your iPhone or iPad.
On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Notifications > Apple TV Keyboard and turn off Allow Notifications.
