Subscribe to Apple News in News on Mac
Apple News is a subscription service that provides access to full current and back issues of hundreds of magazines, as well as various newspapers, directly in Apple News on your Mac.
Note: Apple News and Apple News aren’t available in all countries or regions.
Subscribe to Apple News
In the News app on your Mac, click News in the sidebar (if you don’t see the sidebar, click in the toolbar), then click an Apple News subscription button (such as Get Started or Try It Free).
Follow the onscreen instructions.
You may be asked to sign in to the App Store with your Apple ID.
If you sign out of the App Store on your Mac after you start your Apple News subscription, you can read only free stories on your Mac until you sign back in.
For more information about Apple News subscriptions, see the Apple News website.
Cancel your Apple News subscription
In the News app on your Mac, choose File > Manage Subscriptions.
You may be asked to sign in to the App Store with your Apple ID.
If you have more than one subscription, click Edit for your Apple News subscription, then click Cancel Subscription.
Apple News stories you saved and downloaded issues remain on your Mac unless it requires more disk space or you choose Clear All when you clear your reading history, at which time they’re deleted. You can also delete issues yourself.
If you cancel your subscription during the free trial period, you can read only free stories. If you cancel your subscription after billing starts, you can continue to read all stories until your next billing date, at which point your subscription ends.
Share your Apple News subscription with Family Sharing
If you’re a member of a Family Sharing group and subscribe to Apple News , your subscription is automatically shared with the family group. Family group members don’t need to do anything—Apple News is available to them the first time they open the News app after your subscription begins.
If you have a subscription to Apple News and join a family group that’s already sharing a subscription, your subscription is not renewed on your next billing date; instead you use the family group’s Apple News subscription.
Note: To stop sharing your Apple News subscription with a family group, you can cancel the subscription, leave the family group, or (if you’re the family group organizer) stop using Family Sharing.
When you subscribe to Apple News , you can listen to audio versions of select stories, as well as an audio briefing of the day’s top stories hosted by Apple News editors, on your iPhone or iPod touch. If your car supports CarPlay, you can listen to the audio stories and briefing on the go. See the iPhone User Guide or the iPod touch User Guide.
Note: The audio feature and CarPlay aren’t available in all countries or regions.
