Use iCloud Shared Photo Library on your Windows computer
After you set up or join an iCloud Shared Photo Library on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can view it on your Windows computer with iCloud for Windows 14 or later.

View your iCloud Shared Photo Library
Photos and videos in your iCloud Shared Photo Library appear in the same place as your iCloud Photos personal library. Photos in a shared library include icon badges to quickly identify them. If you added the item to the shared library, you see next to the filename. If another participant added the item, you see .
On your Windows computer, open File Explorer, then click iCloud Photos in the Navigation pane.
If you don’t see iCloud Photos, click Pictures in the Navigation pane, then double-click iCloud Photos.
Double-click a thumbnail to download and view it.
Move items between your personal library and shared library
You can move any photo or video in your personal library to your shared library. You can also move items you added to the shared library back to your personal library.
Photos and videos added to your iCloud Shared Photo Library count toward the library organizer’s iCloud storage.
On your Windows computer, open File Explorer, then click iCloud Photos in the Navigation pane.
If you don’t see iCloud Photos, click Pictures in the Navigation pane, then double-click iCloud Photos.
Right-click the photo or video you want to move, choose iCloud Shared Photo Library, then choose “Move to personal library” or “Move to shared library.”
Note: If a photo has next to the filename, another participant added the item to the shared library and you can’t move it to your personal library.
See who shared a photo or video
On your Windows computer, open File Explorer, then click iCloud Photos in the Navigation pane.
If you don’t see iCloud Photos, click Pictures in the Navigation pane, then double-click iCloud Photos.
Hold the pointer over the photo or video.
You see who shared the item next to Activity.
Delete photos or videos from your shared library
Any participant of a shared library can move photos and videos to the Recently Deleted album, where they remain for 30 days before being permanently removed. When you delete a photo or video, it’s also deleted from all your devices that have iCloud Photos turned on. See Delete photos or videos from your shared library in the iCloud User Guide.
