Get started with Family Sharing recommendations on Mac
Get the most out of Family Sharing with Purchase Sharing, parental controls and more.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Family in the sidebar.
If you don’t see Family, set up Family Sharing.
Click Recommended For Your Family.
Click an option to set it up or see more details. For example:
Parental Controls: Set up Screen Time or Ask to Buy.
Note: Age restrictions vary by country or region. See “About settings and features for kids under 13” in the Apple Support article Create an Apple Account for your child.
Safety and Privacy: Share your location, or add a recovery contact or a Legacy Contact. See the Apple Support articles Set up an account recovery contact and How to add a Legacy Contact for your Apple Account.
Subscriptions and Purchases: Share your subscriptions, such as iCloud , and your iTunes Store, Apple Books and App Store purchases.
More Recommendations: Share your passwords, a shopping list in Reminders, or a family calendar.
To remove an item in the list, click in the top-right corner.
To see items you’ve completed or removed, scroll down to the Completed or Dismissed section.
Tip: To add an item back to its original section in the list, click , then click Restore.
