Apply content and game restrictions in the App Store on Mac
You can apply content restrictions on apps and games in the App Store. If you set up Family Sharing, you can turn on Ask to Buy so that you’re asked to approve purchases for certain family members.
Apply content and game restrictions
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Screen Time in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
If you’re a parent or guardian in a Family Sharing group, click the Family Member pop-up menu and choose a family member.
Click Content & Privacy, then turn on Content & Privacy.
Do any of the following:
Set Game Center and Multiplayer Game restrictions: Click App Store, Media, Web, & Games, then choose to allow or disallow actions in Game Center and Multiplayer Games.
Set age-based store restrictions: Click Store Restrictions, then choose Allow All, Don’t Allow or a specific rating level used in your country or region.
Turn on Ask to Buy
Ask to Buy is on by default for children under 13 years, and can be turned on for family members under 18 years. (Specific age limits may vary in different countries or regions.) See Set up Family Sharing.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Family in the sidebar.
Click a family member, click Ask To Buy in the sidebar, click Turn on Ask to Buy (if required), then turn on Require Purchase Approval.
