Piata[edit | edit source]
The only way to reach Piata is to park your jet scooter in the south east corner of Mota, and trek across the wilderness of a dangerous region until you reach Piata closer to the middle of the continent. You'll want to visit Piata before you search for Uzo Island. The opponents on the island are very strong, so you'll want to equip and arm yourself with the protective gear and powerful weapons sold in Piata.

Money goes fast in Piata. The Laser Sword is a good upgrade for Rolf. If you didn't get a pair of Laser Bars for Nei in Kueri, you'll want to buy them now. Ceramic material makes outstanding protection, so buy as many of the correct Ceramic gear for your party as you can afford. (Don't forget to hang on to unused items and hand them down to characters waiting back home).
There are a trio of weapons for Rudo to choose from. If money is no object, the Laser Cannon does the most damage. If you need to make the money stretch, settle for a Vulcan instead. It doesn't do as much damage, but it can attack multiple enemies, which the Laser Cannon cannot.
Piata is the last town left for you to discover on Mota. As such, visiting it is also the trigger for the last companion that comes knocking on Rolf's door back in Paseo. Shir is a thief who seems to be looking for excitement. She's not an especially good fighter, but she does have one unique ability that can come in handy from time to time; every time you visit a store with Shir in your party, there's a chance she may disappear and return to Rolf's home. Upon finding her again, she will have an item that she stole from the store in her possession. Through a similar technique, you can find another very useful item.
Shir must reach level 10 before she can steal an item that can be incredibly useful and save you a lot of time and effort if used properly. After achieving level 10, bring Shir to the Baggage room in the Central Tower of Paseo where you can store and retrieve items. Keep entering and leaving the Baggage room until Shir disappears from your party. Go find her back in Rolf's home and check her inventory. She will be holding the Visiphone.
Using the Visiphone allows you to save your game anywhere at any time, and not just at Data Centers in towns. Use this item carefully, as you can easily save the game when you're in a dangerous and inescapable situation. Rather, use it before climactic battles, but always make sure you have a means of escaping before you save the game if you find that you aren't prepared for a given situation just yet.
Uzo Island[edit | edit source]
You won't find Uzo anywhere on the main continent of Moto. However, it's fairly large and hard to miss. In order to find it, you must travel east from the south east most peninsula, or board the jet scooter from Kueri and head due west. Be careful, as even the ocean is infested with powerful biomonsters.
The mountains of Uzo are actually a giant labyrinth. There are several steps that lead from one section to the next, and there are a few cave passages that can either take you great distances across the mountain, or for short climbs. The monsters in Uzo are powerful. They represent a significant jump in difficulty compared to the monsters that you've encountered in the past. The protective gear in Piata will surely come in handy here, and many enemies have the ability to wipe out a weakly defended party in just a few turns. Amy's healing ability will also be indispensable here.
Seven tree are found on the peaks of Uzo Mountain, but only one of them is the Maruera tree that you (and the scientist in Kueri) are looking for. The challenge for you is to find the right path to reach the correct tree and collect the leafs that you need to proceed. The path you need to take is not linear. You'll need to both climb and descend as you move across the mountain. Some caves lead to dead-ends, but you'll need to take the right caves to reach your destination. There are no treasure chests to collect on Uzo Mountain. The area is simply an test of endurance as you try to make your way to the correct tree.
From the beginning you want to first make your way to cave B. To do that, you must head to the right and climb some steps, then head to the left and climb the next set of steps. From here, you want to continue making your way to the left as you climb up and down steps until you begin to see the water that falls from a lake. When you do, climb down and head to the right to continue your way back down to the bottom of the mountain. After one final climb back up, you should be to the right of the entrance to cave B.
Enter cave B, and you'll pop out just above the lake source of the waterfall. Your next destination is cave D. Start moving to the right, climb up three steps, and down two more to reach cave D. Head inside and it will deposit you near two different peaks. The left peak is the one which contains the Maruera tree. Examine to find some of the leaves.
