Alone in the Dark 3 is the third and final game out of the original Alone in the Dark trilogy. Just like its two predecesors, the game is an action adventure game featuring survival horror elements, such as ammunition management and unsettling setting. It was developed by Infogrames but, unlike the first two games, was only published on computers.
Story[edit | edit source]
The story takes place in July 4th, 1925. Emily Hartwood, a friend of the private detective Edward Carnby, disappear along with her movie crew while she was shooting a film in the ghost town of Slaughter Gulch, near the San Andreas Fault. Edward go investigate, but he will soon discover that the film crew awakened the spirits of the town, that conspire to take over the world by using Emily as a sacrifice. To save her, Edward will need to help the descendants of the Aztecs and uncover the dark secrets of Slaughter Gulch.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
The third game tries to be the middle ground between the first game's puzzles and the second game's actions: there is therefore less enemies and weapons, and the game goes back to a more creepy atmosphere, with ethereal musics that will make you feel the mystery of Wild West.
