I was looking forward to this game, wanting to play it simply for the fact that Sally is my favorite character and I cannot stop gooning to her. Unfortunately, after 100%ing this game and unlocking everything, I was very upset and depressed to find out that Sally was nowhere to be found in the ENTIRE game. Thanks Rainbow Studios and THQ, now I am 9 hours in edging debt.

Cars 2: The Video Game is one of my all-time favorite video games, as across the multiple versions of this game that I played, I have sunk hundreds of hours into them. However, I cannot necessarily recommend this version of the game due to a multitude of reasons. To begin with, this version of the game wasn't entirely developed by Avalanche Software. It was outsourced to a now defunct Chinese game development studio known as Gamestar. They decided to port over the Wii version of the game for whatever reason instead of the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of the game, so the gameplay screenshots shown on the store page are false information. However, I can excuse that since on my copy of the Wii version of this game uses screenshots from the PS3/Xbox 360 versions as well. Gamestar is infamous nowadays for their poor work on porting over console games to PC, and not just for the fact that they always use the Wii version of the game, or whatever is the weakest console of the generation, as a base. There is also no support for 3 and 4 players, as this version is hardcoded to only support 2 players at most. It isn't possible to have more than 8 characters/opponents in a race, as this was hardcoded and carried over from the Wii version as well. (The Wii version allows 4 player multiplayer, so I'm not sure why it was cut to only 2 players for this version.) There are some bugs and glitches that are a result of poor optimization, which some have been fixed from earlier PC versions. (There are 3 PC versions of Cars 2: The Video Game: PC 1.0, PC 2.0, and Steam.) However, there have been new bugs introduced, for example a bug that causes the game audio to loop after a while and then the game crashes after the race is over and you exit it. This is a product of the engine the game runs on, as it is present in all versions of the game, and it happens way more frequently in this version. There are also laptop resolution scaling bugs, and no UI resolution optimization, meaning the UI will not scale to fit higher resolutions. With these problems that this version of the game is plagued with, I really can't exactly recommend it to the fullest.. However, the game has an ever-growing modding community that is discovering new information about the game and with new mods coming out every month or so. It's still very niche, but it is really neat, and I do recommend you check out the mods whenever you have the chance, as it's one of the best ways to play the game. The community has even documented some workarounds to the bugs I have mentioned above, including the audio loop and game crash glitch. Even without mods, I still do recommend the game despite it's shortcomings and problems. Although it's a few hours in length, it's a fun time waster, and the mods this game has makes it even more enjoyable.
