Its a lifesim in a cyberpunk dystopia, and I see people complaining that its too hard.

Guess what? Thats the point, its a lifesim in a cyberpunk dystopia.

"This game is pay to win" Is something I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LAUGH at. You see those hours? Before about the three thousand mark, I'd had only had the subscription once or twice... in a year. It has a lot of cool bonuses and makes the game easy(if you deign to use the content, nothing in there is crucial to game play OR story), but if you learn how to AVOID RISKS and things the game straight up tell you are super dangerous? WOW, its almost like choosing sensible options leads to sensible outcomes and risky options....
Most of those hours, as in the vast vast majority? One character, my very first attempt. No restarts, none. You get 20 days to learn how to deal with the brutal bits, you really should use them to figure it out. And if you don't and hit a death spiral and die?

Congrats, you got another 20 days and bonus points to speed things up to get where you were a bit quicker.

The game rewards you sticking through the hardship, trust me. Lose an arm? Not the end of the world, get a cybernetic one... if you even want to. Could roleplay any number of reasons NOT to get a replacement, and the game? Accepts that. Cause this game might as well be a roleplay life sim, and people are treating it like its Fallen London. Man I bet that constant comparison aint pissing the dev off my now. If you liked FL, I got another question...

Did you like Sunless Seas? That also had permadeath and was very hard. Yet the more you stuck through it... the better it got cause you knew how to play it in the first place. This game is meant to played over months. MONTHS. If you die before your first one in your first attempt and complain about it?
Let me give an analogy:
"♥♥♥♥, Dwarf Fortress is so HARD and CONFUSING why does anyone every play this piece of crap?" Said by someone who made one fort and of course it failed, its your first drawf fort its very very likely that happens. Its kinda of... almost... intended to. You get where I'm going with that? Games not nearly as hard, but not knowing it....

This is a somewhat-a lot in depth simulator game with a focus on realistic response to things. Its also a cyberpunk dystopia setting and despite you being the player sent on a Mission you must complete, there is no world saving protagonist. Its a story of a thousand people more than you. Its the story of a city, and your avatar to explore it.

If you are concerned about how many stories are on the content wall? Thats cause the devs focus is those mechanics, and getting them to be more lifelike. Again, may be a lot of stories(and some pretty cool ones at that) and even more by the time someone in the future read this, but its really a simulator. At least to me.

Recently rediscovered the joys of playing Morrowind when I got a code for it in a giveaway. Very nice. My only problems are technical issues on my side(playing on an old laptop with a mouse plugged in), but it works and the worst thing I encountered was that the setting didn't save and had to look up a guide to fix that, but otherwise a perfectly fine time.
