I have been a life-long Halo fan. I loved and played the crap out of Halo CE and 2, growing up with an original Xbox. Years down the line I finally got to play the 360 games. Since I skipped out on an Xbox one (because c'mon, it's the Xbox one), I have been waiting for this game for 9 years.

Does it deliver? Well, only the multiplayer is out right now, so I'll update this when I put enough time into the campaign to get a solid idea from a veteran's standpoint. So, the multiplayer:

Blending both new mechanics and old alike, I feel that the developers struck a nice chord between the more OG fans and the... zoomers of Halo. Advanced movement has overhauled, and I am very satisfied with it. For example, I never liked sprint. They made it where you only HAVE to sprint if you want to slide. They also added equipment options like in Halo 3, and most of them are both fun and can be used creatively.

I will say this has been the most fun I've had (mechanics and gameplay wise) in a fps in years. You can do all sorts of wicked stuff, and every match feels different and has the potential to be exciting.

I'm not going to rant about the progression/customization parts of the game. Everyone has heard it a million times already, and I completely agree with them. On the off chance you the reader haven't seen any discourse, I'll boil it down to a few sentences:

Halo Infinite has the worst microtransaction system a game has ever had (ominous "yet"), Period. They've failed to deliver products, lied, nickle an dime you over literally everything to do with customizing your player, all for a quick buck. They've said they want to make this game a live service and keep it up as their main halo game for the next ten years, but it won't last another 6 months if this game continues to be so predatory.

One quick note before I'm done. Since this game is F2P and technically the campaign is the DLC, I've heard rumors about hacking/cheating starting to ramp up very soon. Stay on your toes spartan.

Ending note:

This is one of my favorite games to play now mechanics wise. I've been starved for halo content for nearly a decade (technically more since I don't appreciate Halo 4), and I'm just trying really hard to ignore everything else around it that is shortsighted and malicious. I hope you'll be able to enjoy this beautiful game, and if you happen to find this review years down the road, I pray to everything holy that you'll be able to play Halo Infinite like it SHOULD be played.

If you wear a furry costume, people immediately target you. The realism is out of this world!

Halo. The game that I cut my teeth on more than 15 years ago. They said it would never happen. Boy were they wrong! The first six games are now on PC, and the team for the MCC are still working diligently to fix the myriad of issues still present across all six of the games. It's pretty good to experience your childhood games on a bigger and better machine.

Back to the OG loot'n'shoot game. Personally my favorite Borderlands game of them all. While the pre-sequel may be more polished, and BL2 have more content, you just can't beat where it all started.

I have loved this game ever since it came out on mobile. A nice casual game with mild strategy where you sit back, relax, and listen to the calming music.

I came into this world expecting my hind quarters handed to me, and boy, this game doesn't hold back. I've found it both educational and fun.

Timeless mix&match simulator from 2012
Come for the gameplay, stay for the hours it takes to farm a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slag bladed Rubi, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm tired af.
Soundtrack is A . Definitely recommend buying all the dlc. The references to just about any pop culture thing is hilarious as well, even if you don't understand all of it. A friend got the game for me, but I ended up buying the GOTYE as well. Don't buy the season pass.
