Oh boy, are you in for a laugh.

This has to be one of the funniest, most charming games ever made. Genuinely!

Before I go on, it is important for me to note that I played this game with my friend on his steam account before I purchased it myself, so that would be why my "time played" shows literal minutes.

Anyway, this game is less a deep and convoluted murder mystery, and more of a casual and silly tour through a cute alligator version of New York city. Within, you will meet an absolutely adorable cast of characters one by one, learning about them and playing simple mini games to assist them in a buncha different ways. Meet these gators, and piece together the family tree that ties these colorful characters together.

If I were to throw out any negatives, this game may be a bit to casual if you are looking to solve a dark and twisted web of mysteries. You are "investigating" throughout the game, but the game makes it pretty clear from the get go that it is a low stakes romp. Come here for cute characters and silly humor, not deep or creative gameplay.

Feeling like you may still be on the fence with this game? No worries, feel free to check out the playthrough that my friend and I did on our gameplay channel to see if it is the game for you. Just a warning, though, we are pretty cringe! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSaDUTpQ2Tk&ab_channel=GhostArcade

I know it"s really hard, but you should ABSOLUTELY try your best to avoid spoilers for this game.

This story is a literary MASTERPIECE.

Before I continue this review, I must disclose that my friend and I played this game together on his steam account, so that"s why I only show 30 minutes of play time.

Anyway, I LOVED this game. Omori has you taking the perspective of a very damaged teen who tries desperately to cling to his positive childhood memories by recreating a fantasy world in his head filled with the kid versions of his closest friends. In this head space, everything is happy and fun. However, outside the head space lies mental instability, depression, and a dark truth that increasingly gets worse and worse the more you uncover. You will find yourself really feeling for these characters, as each one is beautifully written with extremely relatable traits and characteristics. Watch as your character"s mental state and coping mechanisms actually work their way into the game play, allowing you yourself as the player to FEEL the anxiety that the MC is going through.

Just a few things to note when you feel like you"re ready to dive in, this game is DEPRESSING. If you are especially sensitive to themes of self harm, loss, and mental paranoia, this may not be the game for you. Also, this game features elements of horror, but personally I would consider it to be pretty tame.

If you still find yourself on the fence with whether or not to give this masterpiece a try, you can always feel free to check out the play through that my friend and I did over on our youtube channel. Be careful, we think we are funnier than we truthfully are. If you can get past the awful jokes, though, then we definitely encourage you to swing on by and experience this gorgeous art with us.

This game is one HECK of a ride!

I had no idea what to expect walking into this one, and man, I didn"t think it was gonna be THIS.

Before I go on, it is important to know that I played this with a friend on his account, so that is why my "Time Played" says .1 right now.

This is a very cryptic story about a princess that you have to slay. Pretty straight forward, right? Well, this is one of those "how much do you enjoy your entire reality being shattered?" games. You follow an extremely pushy, unreliable narrator as he leads you to slay this chained princess. You have to choose, with a plethora of options, whether you trust him, or want to think for yourself. Or, honestly, a little bit of both, or even neither.

This visual novel is absolutely gorgeously illustrated. Really, The only colors in the game are black, white, gray, and red, but the artists do so much with it that you will quickly forget the limited pallet.

For me to go on and gush more would possibly spoil things, and I really don"t wanna take that chance. I will say, this game might not be for you if you"re a "Ummm, tf was the point of that??" person, which is understandable. This game often just does things, and likes to leave the player completely confused.

If you are still on the fence with this game, might I suggest that you take a look at the play through that my friend and I did on our You Tube channel? We were absolutely floored with how awesome this gorgeous art piece was, and we would love to have you guys come experience it along with us! Then, if you get the game, you can let us know what endings we missed!

What an absolute TRIP!

I went into this game as clueless as I possibly could have, and gosh darn, I had an absolutely FANTASTIC time.

I really don"t wanna spoil anything here, so I will be as vague as possible while getting the point across. This game is a "game theorist" gold mind! There are massive twists and turns throughout the entire game as you slowly uncover the hidden story behind the scenes. Even if those "mind break" games are not really your cup of tea, there is still plenty for you to sink your teeth into. The game play changes itself up often enough to always feel fresh and new, even while simply building on itself and evolving.

Honestly, the only issue I can really state is that some people may get a little frustrated with the not so straightforward story. Maybe if I am reaching, people might find a few of the puzzles a little too difficult, but trust me, anyone should be able to do it if I can.

Still on the fence? Feel free to check out a play though that my friend and I did on our You Tube channel. If anything could convince you, it might just be two idiots making dumb jokes about how bad they were at this awesome game.

Thanks SEGA. Thanks for proving that you can still make a "good" Sonic game!

About time!

This game is a joke, but like, in the BEST way. Genuinely, it is 100 percent a self aware story. Super simple too. Most importantly, its FREE. What are you doing reading this?! Just play it!

Unless, that is, you would prefer to have my friend and I tell the story TO you. We posted a lets play of this on our You Tube channel, and we had an absolute blast, so we"d love to have you with us too!

There is absolutely nothing that I can put here about this game that would be new information to you. Everyone here has absolutely praised the heck outta NITW.

Everything they"re praising is absolutely 100 percent correct.

Quick heads up, I did not play this game on steam. I grabbed this game when it was free on epic, and I put 24 hours into it there. Now that I finished it, I grabbed it here so I can share my thoughts on it, as well as throw some support for the devs, because boy howdy, they deserve it.

This is a wonderfully animated tale about the difficult transition between childhood and adulthood, masterfully told through the perspective of a recent college dropout as she abruptly returns to her home town. Darker secrets of the town unfold as she navigates days filled with themes of friendship, family, depression, and self worth. The extremely well written characters actually begin to feel like your own friends throughout the story, all fitted well with their own quirks and aspirations. The music lends itself phenomenally as a perfect companion to the background of the set, full of catchy and beautiful jams.

Any negatives I could point out? Best I could warn is that this could be considered a very slow game for people who might be more mystery or plot focused. This game is way more of a character piece than it is a mystery thriller. If that sounds like a turn off for you, this may not be your game.

If you are still on the fence with this game, or you have played this game and would love to experience it again trough the perspective of two idiots, feel free to check out a lets play of NITW that my friend and I did. Come hang with us as we play through the full game, crack some dumb jokes, cry a little bit, and do some silly voices.

Some people go to school to feel smart. Some show up to their local brewery for Trivia night. Some even belittle others" intelligence just to feel smart.

Me? I just play this game.

The Case of the Golden Idol was made to make you feel like genius investigator. Basically, you are thrown either in the middle of, or right at the tail end of a crime or murder, and you must use context clues gathered from the still scene to deduce what transpired. The thing is, you"re not always just looking for "who did it, how"d they do it, why"d they do it, ect." Often, you"re picking out people"s schedules, cult rules, seating arrangements, crimes, and a bunch of other specific things that will initially intimidate the crap out of you. However, after looking over the scenes, and putting a few guesses down, you"d be surprised at how much info is hiding in plain sight.

The devs did a fantastic job crafting a dark and intriguing story, following generations of a family as they pass down the dangerous and magical "Golden Idol" from family member to family member. Even if the game play is not entirely for you, you may be enthralled enough in the story to let it pass.

Seriously, this is an amazing detective game that feels very satisfying to complete. If I were to throw out a complaint or two, there are a small handful of times where I felt that the answers were just a tad too vague and obscure, but to be honest, that could just be me being a dumb dumb.

If you"re still on the fence with this game, and need to see two idiots play it for a little bit before you make your decision, My friend and I uploaded a taste of this game to our youtube lets play channel. Go ahead and check it out, and then rub it in our face when you solve these cases in half the time that we took!

What can I say, this game is faaaaaaaancayyyyyyyy

This dark and surreal adventure is pretty short, but extremely entertaining!
Little Misfortune is less a puzzle game, and more of a walking sim that tells the story of an especially unfortunate little girl who follows the directions of an unknown voice through a quest to find "eternal happiness".

The wonderful art, story, and voice acting carry this game as an interesting and often spooky story telling experience with plenty of mysteries to unravel.

Just a warning, there is a HEAVY use of dark humor throughout this game that I can see turning off certain people. Seriously, this game does NOT pull any punches. Do not play if you don"t enjoy laughing at REAL messed up stuff.

If you are still on the fence with this game, please feel free to check out a play through that my friend and I did on our gaming channel to see if it is the game for you. Stop on by, and watch us laugh at things that are absolutely going to win us a front row seat in hell.

I thought I was going to HATE this game at first. I thought this was going to be another low budget, cheap, and lazy indie game. My mind was made up the moment my friend and I started this game.

Luckily, this IS a story about CHANGE.

The stunning artwork and phenomenal music pieces feed PERFECTLY into an expansive and surprisingly dark tale about a small town and the secrets that hide in plain sight. The charming characters keep this narrative fresh and fun as you work to uncover the many mysterious twists and turns in Beacon Pines.

The real strength of this story comes in the form of it"s branching timelines. You will make choices at various points in the game that will drastically alter the course of the story, some for the better, and some for the WAY worse. Whats unique about Beacon Pines, however, is that you can not only change your timeline whenever you want, but you also need to explore the "Wrong" timelines in order to reach the real ending. Basically, unlike other games that have you play one path to completion before replaying the entire game JUST to experience a different story or ending, this game invites you to explore the story in your own way. You don"t have to replay the story just to experience an alternate ending.

If you are still on the fence with this game and need a little sample before you dig into the meal, my friend and I played through this entire game on our YouTube channel. Feel free to get a taste, just be ready for some cringe humor and bad voice acting.

Note: I did not play this game on Steam, which is why my "Hours played" shows 0.3 right now. My friend and I played this game on his switch. Once we finished, I bought it on steam, with the art book and soundtrack.

Boy was I late to this party.
Like, wow, I remember hearing about this game a while ago, and I just brushed it off. Completely ignored it.

That was a mistake.

This game is fantastic. If you enjoy games with horror elements, mysteries, charming characters, and cleaver writing, this this is the game for you.

Few things to keep in mind, I feel that some of the puzzles can be a little vague, spiking the difficulty a little here and there, and the main area can be a little hard to navigate at first because the backgrounds and rooms are a little too similar, but I personally wouldn"t call any of those nitpicks a deal breaker by any means.

If you are still on the fence with this strange and mysterious adventure, feel free to check out a playthrough that my friend and I did on our YouTube channel, where you can watch us get lost. get scared, and fall in love with this awesome game.
