The slow auto fire causes the game to not have the strategy or precision needed in the games it's trying to clone. The power-ups drop randomly; at first I thought I knew exactly when or how they would, but I was wrong.

The only saving grace is the art direction, but art direction doesn't equal gameplay.

This game is garbage and I feel as if I'm being pandered to for nostalgia. There are a million better Invaders clones out there; be it official spin-offs by Taito, premium, or even free flash or Dos shareware. Take your pick from the past 35 years cause this game will now join the millions of bad rip-offs.

This game only fills me with sadness and want. 4/10

Basic Chess, Monopoly, or Card Games to Avalon Hill, DnD, Convoluted Solitaire... The only limit is the imagination.

It advertises Tabletop Sim. It GIVES tabletop sim.......
Who would've thought a simulator delivers on it's goals?
9/10 - Controls can take a second to get used to. But not bad.

At the moment, I'm too tired to write a proper review. Just know this is one of the BEST Visual Novels I've played in recent history. Also, I may have to consider it to be on my top 10 sci-fis (I'm a Sci-fi buff, so I'm familiar with Asimov, Clarke, Philip K. ♥♥♥♥, Bradburry, the list goes on). I just spent all night playing. I'm tired, heartbroken, happy, sad, but fullfilled.

Basic Stats include:
Nakige VN - Sad, Emotional, and Thought Provoking.
2.5 endings. A "True" Ending (Happy, all things considered), Extention Prologue, and Good/Neutral (but sad) Ending.
Playtime - roughly 7 to 9 hours. Completionist, maybe 9 to 11.

Holy crap, though... 10/10 for sure, unless I can really think of a flaw, but I can't.

P.S. Getting the Good Ending with Epilogues are a cakewalk. Not convoluted. Good for a beginner IF player that wants a meaningful story. Otherwise... Those are my 3 Laws!! *Glitch* Jumpscare (cause I wasn't expecting it and I had headphones)

As a shmup... unfortunately this game is a shallow, clusterbarf of flashes and colors that ultimately just requires you to start tapping your power button while strafing back and forth without much thought.

Only makes you feel powerful in a decievingly simple situation.

I hate to be "that guy," but it's the perfect bullet hell for anybody that can't play bullet hells... No need to "Git Gud"

The real challenge in this game comes from actually being able to see what's going on and not have a seizure while playing it.

Outside of that. The graphics are a nice novelty for the first few minutes, but then just becomes grating in a very bad way.
3.5/10

To the Devs... I'm sorry. Normally I like all shmups... I'll still try to give this a better shot, but at the moment, my feelings on it are what it is.

Updates keep rolling in, so any technical issue that I may have may be moot point at the time that you read this:
SO--what I will say is that this IS the best spiritual successor to the the Megaman franchise you'll find anywhere at the moment. I also soon realized that I'm garbage at Megaman X.
Basically what it is is what you would get if Megaman was a successfully executed Rougle-lite. Everything from the artstyle, enemies, boss fights, and power-ups. It feels pretty legit.

An easy 9/10 -- it may go to a 9.5 or 10 with the final release of v1.0. But as it stands, will offer the Megaman fix that you know you thirst for.

It just makes me sad that this game stands in relative obscurity in comparisson to Mighty No. 9. People need to know that this game exists.

Though, my personal opinion is that it's not as polished as some of the other PopCap titles; it's still a very fun classic. Later difficulties become brutal, so it may not be everyone's cup of tea for something relaxing. Because of that, it may be better suited for hardcore puzzle game fans in general.

Pulling multiple combos or using your special weapons always feels gratifying.

Eitherway--the fun simplicity of this game is what shines, like most PopCap games.

Good for short breaks from the norm.

Unfortunately, there's no controller support (due to it's age and origins); so expect a lot of use from your mouse and/or keyboard (whichever you prefer)... which is only but a minor gripe.

7/10 - Good

It's a revamped Centipede for all intents and purposes. But from my experience one of the best clones in existence.

Essentially, it's what Centipede should've turned into back in the mid 90's, but never did. Because what Atari was, turned into, then bought by differing companies that had no idea on how to create good games did.

Adding Power-ups, slightly differing characters, and new enemies. For a dollar, sadly, this is better and more faithful than most of what Atari (in name only) has tried to remake in the past 20 years... outside of your simple classic anthology/collection type re-releases, of course.

All I gotta do now is replace my mouse with a trackball, and then this may become indistinguishable from the real thing.

Awesome for short bursts of play and classic arcade style fun.

If you like Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, maybe Doctor Who, or any space themed sci-fi: get this.
If you like Rogue-likes/lites: get this.
If you like Strategy Games: get this.
If you like space: get this.
If you like games: get this.
If you DON'T like fun: DON'T get this.
9/10 Amazingly Engaging.

Great game... but EAC (EasyAntiCheat) is apparently prone to privacy leaks.
Once a hacker figures a way around this, kiss your credit card information away for the masses.

Unless you like the idea of spending 1.99 on a bland and brown (aka. blown) version of something you'd find on Kongregate or Newgrounds for free... go right ahead and get this for this... But seeing how most Steam sales these days don't go below $0.49 these days. It's not even worth the trading card sales you collect.
