I've been playing PUBG basically since it came out, and I have many many hours in the game. For a while, it was great. My buddies and I were even really good at the game, winning a few matches each time we logged in. But now, this game has been transformed into the biggest cesspool of cheating, toxic players and removing features. Every other game I die to "xX_Swagmaster_Sweat_Xx" or the like. And at this point, it isn't a matter of skill. It's a matter of the developers not caring about the state that their game is in. I've played well before, but it feels like over the many hundreds of hours I've invested into playing this game, I've only gotten worse. A manufactured paradox sucking the fun and life right out of this game. There are multiple maps that you can't even play on, because they're either out of rotation, or because there's not even an option to select a map anymore. The developers have shown us time and time again that they don't care, either by not working towards a cheating solution or a lack of game improvements. Actually, at this point in the review, my game just now crashed.

It's disgusting to see that someone could make a game so fun, and a game that helped bring the battle royale genre to the forefront of gaming, and then make it worse and worse as time goes on. They don't care if you play. They want your wallet. Hundreds of overpriced cosmetics, battle passes, and weapon skin garbage that add NOTHING to the gameplay experience, and yet, I find more each and every time I log in. If they put even a FRACTION of the time they put into sucking the dollar bills right out of your back pocket into gameplay and fixing the cheating problem, this game would be running as smooth as the developers brains clearly are. I'm not the only one who's realized this either. The reviews for PUBG have declined rapidly and sharply.

The decision to go free to play wasn't made because they want people to have fun. It was made because people don't want to play a game that's riddled with cheating and bugs and have to pay for it. By installing this you are making yourself a victim. Instead of fixing the problem, they'll laugh on a pile of money and give all the previously banned cheaters a ticket right back in. It's FREE to cheat as many times as you want, as many new accounts as you're willing to make! The only cost is your time! If you must play, don't give them any of your money. That's showing them that they can get away with screwing their community over for as long as they want to do so. Go to Apex, go to Fortnite even. If you want a battle royale experience where you even have a chance at winning, this game isn't for you. I can't even FATHOM what a nightmare this must be for new players, with a steep skill curve ahead them and a rock solid wall of cheaters in their path. As for me, I plan to keep up with PUBG on the hope that another game I once loved isn't destroyed forever. But if you're new, don't waste your disk space on this glorified rage simulator.

Welcome to a perfect example of how to kill a game. This was my favorite game for a long time, and I've watched as the life has been beaten out of it update after update. Poor balancing, fixing problems that aren't broken, and a drooling community that is too scared to stand up for the game they once loved. Seriously. If you want to play a game with half brained apes who act like a "casual" match is a life or death, this might be the game for you. You don't play like you're a pro? Have fun getting killed by your own teammates, or even better, screamed at for not playing the specific operator they asked you to. What used to be a fun, active community has become a toxic cesspit, you know, like the one under a toilet that hasn't been cleaned in 4 years. It's not a shooter anymore, it's a gadget destruction simulator. If you're looking for a fun shooter, play literally ANYTHING else. I have tried and tried to enjoy this game but it isn't what it used to be. I can kiss the money I spent on it goodbye, because the Rainbow 6 everybody loved isn't here anymore.
