Many arguments among friends have started because of this game....Honestly thanks! I gotta eat my popcorn somehow.
Good game, simple but well executed and thanks to this game not only do I not have any friends left to play this game. I now also believe I am cursed... at least I know a lot more about myself now.

Early Access Review
Huge pokemon fan BUT...

Temtem has a lot of potential, it seems as though the game will reward you if you are able to find lumas (shinies), giving them at least 2(or was it 3? not sure) perfect stat when you do encounter one. BUT the chances are a lot lower. I sent 80 hours trying to find a Luma that refuses to show up (legend has it that I am still searching...). However if you aren't crazy like me, the game offers a lot of features I personally wished for pokemon, besides the nice multiplayer. The side quests are nice, and the battles, for me personally are more challenging compared to pokemon which is good. The graphics are an interesting choice... But I do love the colours.

Would I stop playing pokemon for Temtem? No I would not, these are two separate games, although many similarities, I enjoy both for different reasons (MINUS the shiny/luma mechanic... I have an issue and I need to stop).

My thoughts

TLDR
I have over 600 hours in this game and I am still a casual, and perhaps average at the game. You can play this game a lot more casual, and still enjoy the game, however the lack of gear can be difficult when against certain monsters. The goal of the game is to 1. Hunt 2. Craft 3. Repeat, if you are expecting something less repetitive I would suggest to look for another game. The new DLC, Iceborne, introduces a new, and essential mechanic, so I would also suggest buying both the core game and DLC if you are interested.

A little about myself
I have played the previous franchises casually as I grew up, I am not new to the game, but this game does feel like a completely new game at times. I am still terrible at the game, but I do enjoy it most of the time and I do not play many games, if any, with fighting mechanics similar to MHW. Anyways to the review!

Audio
Honestly before I hit the 300th hour with this game, I loved and enjoyed the music, each monster introduction also introduces a new masterpiece, however, at "end game", I hunt certain monsters more than others, I do get quite bored so I would listen to music instead...

Gameplay
Every weapon in this game is like learning the game all over by itself, while some weapons have a slightly sharper edge (bad pun hehehe) than others, I believe that the game has a weapon for everyone. Just because a weapon might be better against certain monsters, that doesn't really mean anything, as long as you are comfortable with the weapon, you should succeed in your hunt... With that said, I won't lie, certain monsters are pure evil, and will end you if you are not prepared or know its attack patterns.

Graphics
The game can look amazing, however who really cares about graphics when a wyvern is either breathing fire down your neck or spitting poison at you. I personally do not have issues handling the game with a GTX 1070 Ti, and a Ryzen AMD 2700 X for CPU. That being said, I do have a few friends who runs the game with a more modest laptop, and the game still looks decent with pretty low settings.

Story
Let me be straightforward... Monster hunter has never been known for their story telling, although there is a story, I could probably sum it up in 2 or 3 sentences... which is saying a lot considering the amount of hours I have in this game. The main focus of the game is to hunt, craft, repeat.

Difficulty
Is the game difficult? I wouldn't say so, if anything this game out of the many I have played in the past, is probably the most easiest... however it is by no means an easy game. From monster difficulty to handling your weapons. While some weapons are easy at first glance, there is quite an in-depth mechanic to each of them, and to master them can take long. While playing just one weapon would help, certain monsters are a lot easier if you are proficient in other weapons (Which I know contradicts what I have mentioned earlier) its just a better quality of life, in my opinion to know at least the basis of other weapons.

Multiplayer
The game can be fun multiplayer, although at times it does make the game easier at times, if your friends or randomers know what they are doing, if not, they will make the game ever so slightly more difficult and frustrating. Although I am not really into the MHW community, I think they are a shy bunch, at least the players who I have shared a lobby with. And I have met a few friends from meeting in random lobbies.

Summary
If you are a completely a new player, the game can be frustrating, however if you stick through it, it can feel rewarding... or not. In my personal opinion it is quite a grindy game, but the game does keep it interesting by having so many weapons, and different builds that you, yourself build (Or Google). When I learn a new weapon it is very easy to find resources on the internet to help myself in doing so. This is a game I can always go back to when I am bored. I personally quite enjoy the game, I've done some silly things there and then, died a lot, but hey.... I'm wearing the monsters dead hide, so who is the real winner? Capcom.

Swamp Bananas are slimy.

The game is amazing. I was sceptical at first and I am glad I waited when the hype died, so I could hype the game myself. I have not finished the game as of yet, but nearing the end, sadly. (Offline single-player)

Here are some of my highlights:

- Don't expect invitations from anyone in the swamp or else be expected to be well-acquainted with a swamp banana, and a few missing dollars.
- Story is phenomenal, lots of unexpected twists, well developed characters, and a huge variety of them. I don't think I was ever bored during my playthrough.
- Unexpected choices, the MC is not a hero, you are essentially choosing the lesser evil at times.
- When you freely roam, there are many side characters with backstories which are easily missable and when you do find them they make you question you morals if you do nothing. But will be punished when you do decide to do something.
- The hunting aspect is also a good game mechanic, which I try to use as much as I can... during my earlier playthrough I would be in a trance trying to kill a rabbit... only to kill myself with environmental damage (I essentially died by tripping, trying to hunt a rabbit(Rabbit: 1 Me:0)).
- I love exploring new areas, with my horse alone, find new landmark, animals or even the mysteries. The game leaves little gems of clues scattered around and, again they are easily missable if players don't pay attention. But once you gather the clues, the game tells you a story of what you just discovered, although mostly depressing, it felt amazing to "discover" and piecing everything together and understand what happened within the game.
- Lots of pewpewpew, and customisations for pewpew
- Oh did you know that you play as a cowboy, and you either get really cool hats or dorky ones? Whats not to love.

A funnier version of GTA V in my opinion, a great way to spend some time with friends or by yourself being casual and silly. There are a few jokes which are funny to discover
