The Silent Hill 2 remake is a game packaged with beautiful visuals, an intense sound design, and a layered story beneath it all. I had never played the original, and kept myself mostly spoiler free for my run of the remake. To say this game has stuck with me for WEEKS after beating it is an understatement.

On my first playthrough I received the ‘In Water’ ending, and from there I just had to know about the other endings. On my latest playthrough, not only did I finally get the ‘Leave” ending, but I knocked out the Melee Only run, and completed the game in under 10 hours for the achievement (all on NG with a finish time of just under 4 and a half hours) Even with all of that said, I wanna go back. There is still SO MUCH TO DO

The tragic story of James Sunderland and company is one that will stick with my for awhile. From the action oriented final conflict with Eddie as he embraces his dark side, to the emotional goodbye with Angela, all of the characters involved with the story are amazing and complex in their own way.

I know some people don’t enjoy certain parts of the game like the repetitive combat, but I really didn’t mind. It was simple enough to allow me to really immerse myself in the setting and take in all the details. There is one that I agree with, and its that the game does have some areas that overstay their welcome (I’m looking at you Toluca Prison), but these areas are easy to B-line if you know where to go.

If you’re thinking of getting this game, then do it. There’s a reason that Silent Hill 2 is claimed to be one of the greatest games of all time, and its waiting for you discover why. Even now, In my restless dreams, I see that town…

Spooky Time = Fun Time

In all seriousness this game is super fun to play with randoms or friends. Playing it Solo is fun if you want to change your pants every 5 mins. 10/10

After now 2 playthroughs and 140 hours, I can easily say this game is easily top 3 best games of all time for me. Elden Ring shows what happens when a development team actually cares about the product they create. PC performance issues on launch were there, but haven't had issues since the first patch. Recommend this to anyone who has or hasn't played another FromSoftware title, as this game got me to go back and revisit the catalogue that is the Dark Souls series, Sekiro, and Bloodborne. 11/10, fort, night.
