Disappointing, that word sums up how I feel overall about new world. Did I have fun? sure for a while (quite a while) but much like a good netflix show that gets canceled after season 2 ends on a cliffhanger, so too does new world feel like a big let down.

The grind is bad, the people who are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on you not only have better gear than you but also much more experience than you, and the final kicker is, most of them just bought their gear with a credit card.

Cheating is rampant, not just aimbots or similar straightforward cheats but bug abusing/exploiting to the point where if you aren't participating in it you just aren't competitive enough. I've never heard of someone getting banned for exploiting in pvp, I've sent video evidence of people doing it and nothing, I see the same people in opr everyday.

PVE:
Expeditions are tedious, repetitive, require special sets of gear with no easy way to switch sets, and the rewards are mediocre. I don't really care about pve so thats all I'm going to say about it, if you are only interested in new world for the pve then just know you are going to be disappointed by what it has to offer.

PVP:
You will find after many many hours what the best perks to have on your pvp gear are (usually after joining a company and them explaining it to you) and then you will find out that the 100k gold or so that you have saved up is a drop in the bucket to what you will need if you want best in slot gear (BiS). Faced with weeks or months of PVE to get better pvp gear you will finally have the gear set needed for someone to try you out in a war. You better be a quick learner though because wars are very competitive and you will need to perform well to keep a spot in them with whatever company you are in.

OPR the other pvp game mode is pretty bad, you usually have to wait for a match due to low player participation in off peak hours, and then when you do get a match there's not matchmaking or team composition balancing so one team usually just stomps the other. People realize it's happening and just afk in the spawn. It can be fun with an organized group of 5 people playing the right builds, but this just isn't always an option for most people.

The best thing about new world was playing with my friends on discord. Hanging out making jokes made the game fun, made everyone want to keep playing. You can play any game and have fun with friends, I very much recommend that you do not support this game and have fun with your friends playing something made by developers that can release meaningful content in a functional state at least once in a while.

Early Access Review
Terminally low player count. Game is unplayable and unless the developers do someting it's going to stay that way. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Game will either go free to play, free to download for a weekend and keep forever afterwards, or servers will be shut off inside a year.

The worst part is that the core of the gameplay is fun and well put together. However due to a terrible opening day on steam showcased by several popular streamers, and several poor community management decisions from the devs, the game lost all of it's player base.

People always say things like "but it's early access", "but it's still beta"... sorry but that doesn't matter in this day and age, when you release on steam EA or not you had better have a product that mostly works. People form their opinion of a game as soon as they are able to play it, good luck getting people to give it a second chance.
