I recently returned to this game/mod to make videos, and all project work aside: it has been a blast. I have logged now a couple hundred hours on this game and played several different gamemodes and it is easy to get lost in the game and end up logging hours longer than you intended. This game is a source engine game and hence can use all kinds of custom content from other source engine (Valve) games and the Steam Workshop. The community is still strong in 2019 and I don"t see garrys mod going away any time soon. You can build and create contraptions, make funny screenshots and videos, play levels from other source games, play custom gamemodes like Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT), deathrun, or RP. There is just an insane amount of things to do. The only reason I wouldn"t recommend this game is if you are looking for a traditional shooting game with a story mode. This game is a lot of things, but a simple "run and gun" Call of Duty clone is not it. Look up gameplay for Prop Hunt or Trouble in Terrorist Town before buying, and make sure you check out the "Sandbox" mode for creating stuff. Thanks for reading, hope this helped.
