Do not support Sony published games in the future. Greedy shareholders may have been willing to reverse their decision to force unnecessary DRM onto players months after launch in this particular case, but that will not prevent similar decisions from Sony for other titles. Refund the game, if possible, or choose not to support predatory development practices.

I'm a sucker for good music, love stories, and mysteries and this game provided all of those things. The game lasts a little over 2 hours if you take the time to explore like I did.

Story 9/10: The story is about love and rebellion and coming-of-age. There are a couple side stories you can find if you explore. The main story is really well done and the pacing is great. Some of the side stories leave something to be desired, but that's kind of expected.

Atmosphere 10/10: The lighting and the feeling that everyone just vanished is genuinely creepy. The house looks like everyone left in a hurry. Drawers and cabinets are left open, things are broken, empty pizza boxes are all over the place. Plus the lights flicker and that's always spooky.

Gameplay 4/10: I wouldn't say this is a walking simulator like one of the tags says. It's more like an exploration simulator. Sure there's a lot of walking, but that's not all there is. You can pick things up and read them and turn them Amnesia-style, but there's no real reason for it. I turned over every object looking for clues or something cool. Nothing. You do find things if you look around though. There are little notes and objects hidden everywhere.

Characters 6/10: The characters and their stories are handled a little weird. You know basically nothing about the person you play as except that she likes traveling. The mom's story requires you to explore A LOT. The father is kind of lackluster, but the parents as a whole are alright. The meat of the character development and the story are the main character's sister and her love interest. The minor characters like the uncle and that neighbor kid get name drops like once and are pretty pointless.

Performance 2/10: This isn't very well optimized. Like a lot of people have said, there are frame rate crashes all over the place. It puts a lot of stress on your computer for a game that doesn't have a lot going on visually. Maybe there's a patch somewhere but I haven't found one. The lag doesn't make the game unplayable, but it's just frequent enough to be annoying.

Soundtrack 10/10: The atmospheric/background music is on point with whats happening in the story and there's cassette tapes (good ol' 90s) laying around that add some pretty good music to the mix. All of the audio is superb.

Overall: 7/10: As much as I loved the story and the music, the performance issues broke the immersion. It's a short game and it's not worth $20. My suggestion is pick it up in a Humble Bundle or wait for a Steam sale. This game is awesome for people who like good stories or for anyone who wants to take a break from fast paced AAA titles. It has very little replay value (maybe one or two more runs after you beat it), but it's a good title overall. Definitely not as bad as some of these reviews make it out to be.
