A fantastic addition to the 4X genre. While a little rough around the edges, it still offers a very different yet familiar experience to say Civ 6. The design around "Fame" instead of arbitrary winning conditions makes me prefer this game over civ 6 instantly, as it makes the goal to build the greatest civilization, not just the most sciency one.

And about the rough around the edges part, that is a genre standard by now in the strategy genre when considering launch, Civ 5/6, all paradox games, most total war games all suffered from this issue and got better with time, I think within a years turn as they smooth out the hard corners, this game will end up being a gem.

The third installment of the Crusader Kings franchise is by far the best launch title Paradox has ever released.

It improves upon almost every aspect of Crusader Kings 2, surpassing it in most areas of gameplay even if you include all the DLCs of the the second installment.

Graphics are great, events are great, AI is actually pretty good, but has a few issues in larger wars, but nothing that really detracts from the gameplay.

9.5/10, fantastic game, amazing sequel.

What was originally a bland, unfinished mess has now been fine tuned and improved into what is as of writing this review the best vanilla paradox grand strategy game out there.

Good job paradox, you fixed a game I had no hope in and gave me my moneys worth.
