Early Access Review
Raft is like No Man's Sky meets Sea of Thieves. In fact, the way Sea of Thieves's server works I could totally see them making a massive multiplayer with this, where you would encounter other players that have reached the same tech level as you.

I recommend Peaceful setting for solo players, not because easy is too challenging, I just found the shark too much of an annoyance. With multiple friends, playing with the shark isn't much of an issue.

I felt like this is an unnessecary reskinning in the fashion of so many monopoly and risk games. At least when Parker Brothers came out with Risk 2210 they included the moon. I was hoping that Beyond Earth would explore future possibilities of Kardashev Type 1 or 2[en.wikipedia.org] civilizations. Instead, the game presents a very cynical view of mankind spreading the problems of a pre-type 1 civilization to a brand new planet.

The only thing I liked about Beyond Earth is the affinity system, which has a possibility to create organic conflict due to player's strategies. I would like to see this expand to the quest decisions players make (ie. if players make opposing choices in their best interest, the results affect other players).

I own Civ4&5 so when I want to explore pre-type 1 civ problems, I'll play those. For exploring the future "beyond earth", I suggest Interplanetary

Pros
Vadding (Urban Exploration) - You can climb on just about anything, including flimsy signs. This feature allows you to get onto rooftops and such, always fun. Though the you can't climb slanted roofs which was weird.
Minimal Required Gun play - Although they present you the opportunity to go in with guns blazing, and the mission will even tell you to buy a rifle, you're able to complete the missions via hacking things remotely.
Puzzles and clue - Like most other games that involve hacking, there are plenty of puzzles and clues to piece together.

Cons
- NPC interactions - I was surprised by this. I had hoped that with all the information that appeared over everyone's heads using the profiler would be useful for social engineering. But this seems largely decoration. I followed a guy "Under police surveillance" to see what would happen, nothing ever did. I want to know more about dedsec, but you can't talk to dedsec supporters. You can rob from the rich, but you can't donate to those who just got laid-off. Even when theres a homeless begger next to a soda machine. Hack the soda machine to spit out sodas...no reaction. It just seems, like the game could be so much better.
- "Open World" - This is no Skyrim. You're spoon-fed the usual Ubisoft story, and side missions become repetitive quickly.

I'll keep playing it because I have it, but I would rather have my money back.
