A thoroughly fun cooperative game with a great deal of depth that has improved a lot since release, a solid 8/10 that is easily a 9/10 for the superfans.

Great visual and sound design, excellent music, good variety of viable builds for each class, many different enemies that can be challenging but are generally pretty fair to handle once understood and regular large content updates biannually or so, these are some of the reasons I believe the game is worth the time.

Player made content lets this game really shine, once you figure out the controls and find a community it is easy to play any kind of game you would be able to do in a local game store. As someone who used to play a lot of Magic: The Gathering and is deeply allergic to Arena, I have found this game client a great alternative to real life play.

A better Battlefield game than a few of the last games made on a fraction of the budget. I can't think of another shooter that can claim stable performance with 256 players.

Won't make vehicle mains from Battlefield very satisfied right now.

Distress your Dong for the second time. Much like masochism not everyone will enjoy it, it has mature themes, it will test your tolerances for pain and suffering and some people are really into that. *ahem* flagellant *ahem*

Most distressing death cries I've heard in a game.

PROS: Amazing sound design (battle chatter/SFX/contextual music), satisfying guns and fairly tight gameplay. Less heavy than ARMA but more serious than COD, it cuts a good line between fun and serious. Diverse range of levels to play on, DLC is entirely cosmetic so content is not locked behind paywall. Variety of cosmetic options available that are unlocked for free over time.

CONS: Rubber banding, some issues navigating map scenery such as windows, enemy AI sometimes does immersion breaking things like file lemming style into a room to die. You will probably be playing CO-OP on a US server.

Boring miserable game filled with toxic veterans who seethe the second you criticise their seal clubbing simulator, don't like dying 30 times to enemies you didn't even see? SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP GO BACK TO COD. Getting zero feedback on any of the mistakes you're making that lead to you dying? BRO ITS JUST LIKE WW2, YOU THINK THEY HAD KILL CAMS? Game abuses you and expects you to enjoy it, veterans just sneer at you for not wanting to invest 50 hours into a game before you get a chance to enjoy it.

I've played hardcore games like Arma with better communities, more helpful tutorials and more rewarding gameplay. At this point I am considering refunding after 3 hours where I either spent 10 mins aiming at enemies that were never coming, died the second I left cover or ran 400 m to die suddenly. This was after taking an hour to work out why lobbies would refuse to let me connect despite seeing them in the server browser.

It's addictive as crack but costs less than a single pizza or beer.
The game has an epilepsy warning because by the end of a round there is so much flashing and moving ♥♥♥♥ on the screen that it likely has a risk of triggering a seizure, consider that a criticism or an endorsement if you want.

It's good and I'm confident that CA will fix some of the common issues that have cropped up so far, more detailed review to come later.

It's a very ambitious game that is one or two major public updates away from been one of the best zombie survival experiences in a game. The way the game limits information to the player through line of sight and directional sound helps really build a tense atmosphere as often you'll be aware of zombies but not be sure exactly where they are, which can lead to fatal mistakes for even seasoned players. The game world evolves with time and you get to experience the seasons and weather as blistering heat makes all that heavy clothing a very sweaty experience for your character or be left nearly blind as a deep fog rolls in and obscures the world from sight. Civilisation crumbles one step at a time as power and water inevitably fail, food rots in inoperable freezers and refrigerators, concrete and tarmac begins to crumble due to overgrowth as nature reclaims the empty spaces in humanity's wake.

There is a lot of potential in this game and I believe it is slowly but surely reaching it with each experimental update.
