The Creeperworld series is by far one of my favourite time wasters. Like others that I have read, I played the first 2, including the extra missions, all on Kongregate and eagerly awaited this third installment. I"m so glad to see it here on steam as the Dev can finally make a decent buck from his amazing efforts!

What makes Creeperworld games so unique amongst other tower defence games is the energy currency system. Unlike other games that require you to save your resources, research, etc etc until you can build what you want, you have the ability to build straight away and as many of each structure as you like. The danger lies that the energy required to build, is the same energy required to fire weapons. So if you exhaust too much energy into building, you will surely die! This is balanced by the fact that the more "collectors" you spread across the map, the more energy you have, so there is always an incentive to keep building!

Although not as graphically amazing as some TD such as Kingdom rush, Giants and Dwarves, etc or even the older Dune 3D, Starcraft, etc, etc it makes up for it in fantastic TD gameplay. The second installment of the series seemed to push for better graphics, though this actually seemed to tear away slightly from the charm of Creeperworld and I am personally glad to see an this version return a bit truer to its roots... With one great advantage... NULLIFIERS!! You can explode those nasty emitters. Something that you dreamed heavily about in the first game.

There are a bunch of new features in this third game all which so far (I know it"s still early for me) are very welcome imrovements. One of the best improvements has to be the TERP that literraly allows you to redraw the level!! No space for that turret... No problem, I"ll just terraform some extra land in there :) It"s a low price for a game that will guarantee you hours and hours of addicting gaming.

If you like weird and funny, this is a great little game.

This game litteraly had me laughing out loud at times due to the unexpected jokes and bizzare "storyline." Your objective in the game seems to constantly take a back seat to make room for open exploring, bad puns, and your sudden desire to simply see what weird things you can make happen (because there"s just not enough weird already...). With countless pop culture references from everywhere including the Ninja Turtles, Ren n Stimpy, James Bond, even a very subtle one from Demolition man made it in, but when I saw it, it was one of those laugh out loud moments.

You can"t really fail in this game, it"s more about the journey and the humour. Very much worth the small price that it has on steam.
