I've been playing pc and video games since 1992. Started with zx spectrum which was a 48k basic based home gaming computer. Then in 1994 or so got into NES. Started PC gaming in 1997 and played on PC until 2007. Took a break and played console based games on every console. Now playing more on PC again since getting a new computer.

I don't know how to exactly explain it but this Civ/expansion is really doing it for me. It feels like there is less management than in an actual civ game, and its full of unique mechanics that reflect historic scenarios of colonization of the North American continent. The presentation is really nice. The music is spooky because of how well it fits the game. I also like the different interactions with the native peoples. You have options to be "nice" or exploitative, but whichever approach you choose, you still get branching out outcomes that are more than simply "friendly" or "unfriendly". Interations with the european powers are more like civ vs civ in a Civ game. You can employ varous sneaky subversive methods, like trying to arm the tribes that surround our offical ally, then the ally or enemy spends resources fighting them.

Overall, I'd say this is definitely a must play for anybody who liked Civilization IV.

For which games? Most of them are mine as a result of various sales when I grab them when they are at least ove 60% off. Other times if I get the main game cheaply I feel compelled to get the DLCs so that when I do play the game I actually get the full "experience"

I find myself jealous of all your DLCs! :D
