Early Access Review
A great true-to-tabletop D&D game. It is GOOD in early access, with some bugs and of course unfinished features/quests/stories, but it shows a lot of care went into the game and clearly much passion from the devs. Each play-through (3 at time of this review) has been an enjoyable experience and I look forward to new updates.

absolutely stunning rogue-like. Perfect blend of fast-paced, methodical combat and unlockables/collectables. There is so much lore to explore (for lore junkies) and the challenge is there for challenge seekers.

If you enjoy an unbalanced game that is no longer updated, and a trash tier community full of lag switch abusers, then play this game. Otherwise hard pass.

Early Access Review
I've played several games by Hi-Rez before (Smite, Paladins), and one thing to know about how they do releases is they like to try 'wild and crazy' changes and they ALWAYS listen to feedback. This means that during the development cycle, THERE WILL BE PATCHES THAT AREN'T GOOD.... but they will be changed and fixed to better suit the game. So if one week a patch 'ruins' the game for you, give it a week and it should be fixed and for the better.

Now to the game:

Pros:
Nice art style and very colorful and varied map/landscape
Wide array of guns to match players preferences
Mounts
Chicken (the death system --- instead of getting downed and slowly bleeding out, you get 'clucked' and have to survive 30 seconds as a defenseless chicken to revive. Often times, you still die in the end, but sometimes you can juke your enemies long enough to come back and kill them in return)
Class system (assassin is my favorite, but each feels unique and satisfying to play)
Forging system (this is the best part of the BR... it allows you to craft legendary tier armor, weapons, and class abilities by using the resources you get from looting and killing)

Cons:
- First circle is displayed on the map before you even drop
- Forges cause very polarizing drop locations... instead of evenly spread, most people drop at a few different forges, so you may drop somewhere and not see someone until the first circle closes when over half the players have died
- Some class skills are straight up useless -- these need to be reworked in upcoming patches
- Very little character customization right now. No cosmetics (yet) and your look is determined by class choice.
- Due to headshot (crit) system, some fights can be over in 2 shots even with max gear. Can feel bad to get 2 tapped by someone that gets a headshot body shot.
- Sound system seems wonky at best. You won't hear some things that you should hear... and some things that are like a mile away you hear loud as day.

Overall:
It's a fun game and a VERY welcome change of pace over some of the other popular BRs (PUBG and Fortnite). It's still very early in development, and has issues, but in time this could be a very popular and well-polished game. If you are tired of PUBG and Fortnite, give this one a try and you may be pleasantly surprised.

The 2 words that officially killed this game: Micro Transactions

I used to support this game, and played it nonstop. Up until the Hype Train of 2015, I had owned every single DLC and even purchased the Overkill pack for myself and a friend. If I have to guess how much I spent on Payday 2, it's around $200 or $225.

You know what. I'm not mad I spent that time and money on this game. It was fun back then.

Things change. Games change, and apparently what the devs say about the game has changed. With that change, so does my wallet. It will not support this game anymore.

Good bye Payday2. Burn in hell.
