Possibly the best Guilty Gear for online. I think Strive is another experience, which honestly does not look like GG to me, so I will pass.

Too bad my boy Leo is not in this one. The only thing that was missing from the netcode was the rematch option, and they just added that as well.

I think this game is the best Smash clone in Steam.

Yes, Rivals of Aether also exists, but it tries to be more unique.

As a fighter game enthusiast who also happens to like weird and unique things, this game is a perfect match for me. Still
as all fighting games, it would be waay better with an actual person playing it, in my timezone.

This is a proof that the dev just does not care. The same attitude hurts the game itself as well.

The dev thinks pop ups in a paid product are okay as long as they are a one time thing.

I disagree with this idea.

I disagree with the failed implementation of this wrong idea as well.

==========================

My problem is not with the current version of the product, it does not include the adware i implied above anymore. it is the mindset that made the problem occur in the first place. Since the developer is still the same, and there was not even a proper apology, I don't see how anyone can be sure that no such thing will happen in the future.

Since you can't refund products after sometime, it is better to stay away from developers that has shady practices with whatever excuses, no matter for how long.

So far, I did not have that much time for more playthroughs. But here is the end of my second run, which may give you some idea about the game.

I was following an approach that was purely about going to the next floor, with no fight if possible. I had two treads carrying me, one hammer, one grenade launcher and one prototype energy weapon. Some commando robots saw me, and I tried to escape. I escaped into a deadend though. The enemy was approaching. I tried to hold the chokepoint and cludge the robots one by one as in usual roguelike fashion. It worked, kinda. Since in this game damage is not just a number, and it is distributed to your parts actually, after a while I lost all of my weapons except grenade launcher, my engine and my treads. So my body was consuming more energy than I produced which was zero. Some of the enemies had already died though, and while the others still shooting at me like I am a cyborg duck, I tried to scavange their fellow brethren so that I will have an engine. I even scavenged an armor, which helps me to protect my heart, I mean the core. I decided to use the grenade launcher at the end, but I was in melee range, so I tried to escape, except I had less and less energy. Then I decided to say YOLO and fired the grenade. That did not end well.

Pros
-------
ASCII(like) with justification, you are a robot, of course you will be seeing things differently.
Already fleshed out and will not have the curse of EA.
The game works on its own engine, so no performance issues at all.
Combat feels fluid even when played with mouse.
Pure roguelike with no metagame nonsense.
Scavenging as the main gameplay feature works surprisingly well.

Cons
-----
Steam overlay is not fully working (yet).
Does not use any feature of steam like friends leaderboards and such (yet).
Tutorial is not that well developed.

This is not a complete product, it is a draft for a better game. But I was still neutral about the game, until being faced with wrath of a childish developer who abused community features.

Sep 23rd, 2017=EDIT for developer response:

There was not a single email or social media post by me towards this developer. There was not spamming at all in the forums as well (If you dont count replying the dev 2 times spamming).

The dev not only is childish, but also a LIAR. He does not only insult or ban customers, but also produces lies about them.

Avoid supporting such behaviour.

It does not promise that much, but it delivers all it promises and more. Specifically, 2 player local competitive play was a nice surprise.

Seeing that how the developer tried hard even with a simple concept like this, makes me look forward to his more ambitious titles.

Family friendly (except muslim families :)), and mechanics are easy to learn, so is playable for anyone that used a remote TV controller in their lives once. This is a good thing since main gripe with most of local multi games is just inability to find someone to play with.
