this game is awful. practically no point in playing unless you wanna drop 100 dollars on vc. i even bought 10 dollars worth of vc and i didnt receive it? everyone hacks on mypark blatantly because 2k has no anticheat. 2k has fallen completely to ♥♥♥♥, the last decent 2k was 2k17. even 84 percent off, its still a scam. you cannot play mycareer or mypark if you enjoy those unless you drop a bunch of money but even so the servers are ass and half the time you can't play anyway.

TLDR: RE4 but somehow better than the original. A masterpiece.

This game is a masterpiece and a perfect example of what a remake should be. Although it is missing some iconic scenes, it keeps the most critical parts of what made the original what it is and adds new content. The action is still very apparent, as it should be, with a darker tone and a more serious, albeit still cocky and jokey Leon. Ashley is improved to the point where she becomes useful, and less of a hassle than the original. She can jump off ledges without needing to be caught, though the option is there, and she actually helps you out at numerous points. Also, Ashley and Leon regularly talk to each other, making their relationship more interesting and making her way more charming than the original. In this game, Ashley isn't a whiny little girl, but a smart, capable, and charming young woman. Also, you don't need to worry about using heals on her - she can take a hit, where she goes into an incapacitated state, and you just revive her, unlike the original where if she takes one or two hits she dies, and constantly requires healing.

Luis is more fleshed out, and the story in general is fleshed out a little bit more. There's new weapons, new bosses, new enemy types, a new parrying system with the knife (which makes combat insanely fun as its super satisfying), added costumes, content, the ability to freely move and shoot, and more, making this Leon one of the most powerful we've seen. And this was all added while not taking much out from the original.

The mercenaries mode is far better as well, as you have special powers you can use when you kill enough enemies. Also, you are encouraged to melee as it adds to your time.

Like the original, there are many things to unlock, and there is immense replay value. A welcome addition is the ability to use your spinels to buy certain useful items, instead of getting a measly few thousand pesetas. The Merchant retains his charm, and has new lines he can say to you, while saying the classic lines that we all know and love. Moreover, treasures can be customized with certain gems and certain colors that increase the value of the item, making the treasure system more unique as well. He also has little sidequests you can do for him to gain spinels to buy these items, which adds a reason to go back to certain areas, besides getting treasures. This way, you see unique enemy variants, like the Golden Merciless Knight.

The game in general is much more challenging than the original as enemies move much faster and take more shots to stagger and kill. To balance this, you can move and shoot, as well as parry your enemies. However, this adds to the tension and horror of the game and fits perfectly.

The combat is more fluid than the previous game as you can parry an enemy and kick a group. You can also kick them into walls, which does more damage, and then, if its a tougher enemy, you can stab them in the neck. In general, if you are grabbed, you can stab your enemy quickly to get them off of you. You can even do stealth in many areas, adding another new combat element. The combat is much more varied in this remake than the original, where you'd typically just shoot - kick - stab - until the enemy dies. Now, you can choose to sit back and trust your trigger finger or get up close and personal, parry, shoot, and kick, or, even do stealth. The knife itself is way better too because you can upgrade it, and, of course, like said before, it's an escape tool and a stealth tool, and it even has the ability to stab enemies from behind, instantly killing them, if you manage to get behind them in combat. When Ashley is stolen, you can also quickly stab the offending Ganado and get her back quickly instead of clamoring to shoot the Ganado.

All in all, this game is an absolute masterpiece with very few flaws. It retains the campy nature of the original while sticking to its action-horror roots, and it manages to recreate that feeling when you first played the game and were mesmerized by its perfection. 10/10

This game is...fine. It's not your normal Resident Evil game. It's over-the-top action, and there's like four campaigns, and I've played through some of them, but from what I've heard, none are particularly amazing, but it's all up to your own opinion. I played the Leon campaign with my brother, and it's fun. It's not scary, and it's action packed. I loved the action, but it felt less like a RE game and more like a generic action game. The mercenaries mode is fun too. I hate the inventory system though...it really sucks ass.

You can tell this game was an attempt to try to please everyone. Chris's campaign is more action packed (well they really all are), and Leon's is supposed to be scarier, etc. It has some cool mechanics, like you can shoot on your back, slide, and roll. Your character is quite agile, and can perform some cool melee attacks.

I can understand the hate for this game, especially because they didn't have access to many great RE games that came out like Revelations, or RE7/8/RE2 Remake that honed in heavily on horror. But, if you don't take it too seriously, just try it. The story is fine. It's a cheesy RE story. It's not scary. It's action packed, and it's more nostalgic with zombie and zombie-like enemies. At the time, this might have felt like a disgrace, but now it just seems like a small misstep in the series, but Capcom has regained its footing and has consistently been making quality action packed, but harrowing adventures.

This game is FUN, and I recommend it. But it's tough to get into.

It's a challenging game, I'll admit, and I love how the horde comes and you have to prepare for it. DayZ or other popular zombie survival games don't have such systems. The combat is also solid, although not perfect; it feels like the zombies are a serious threat, but you also feel strong enough through the fun but weird RPG progression system to defeat them.

The basic gameplay loop is loot, kill zombies, level up, mine resources, get food, build up base/ important systems for building up base / weapons / technology, and repeat. While doing all that, you need to prepare for the oncoming horde of zombies that grows progressively more challenging as you grow more powerful.

The zombies are quite smart and can be quite fast after you hit them, and they are a serious threat. If you get surrounded and aren't very powerful, you can easily die. Hell, even if you are powerful, you do not want to be surrounded by them.

The gameplay itself I think is pretty unique and fun; it is an interesting blend of genres that works. What it reminds me of is Minecraft crossed with a tower defense game crossed with Dying Light.

As an indie game, the combat is not that polished though. You can whack zombies with weapons and take their limbs off, but you can' t block. Slashing a zombie essentially looks and feels the same as bludgeoning a zombie. You can't do any cool kicks or punches besides a weak and a strong punch. There aren't that many weapons, and not even essential ones like a katana or a sword or a police baton. There are a pretty wide variety of guns though.

The leveling system is constantly being tweaked, something that is in general a systemic problem with this game. The developers constantly radically change imposed systems; so you'll get used to something and maybe like it, and it works fine, but the devs change it to something not better but not worse and you have to get used to it. Or sometimes it is worse...essentially they fix unbroken things.

Anyway, the leveling system works ok, but it's just a strange system that seems a bit disorganized. There's a lot of skills, and a lot of the skills seem pretty useless to upgrade past a certain point. Moreover, certain weapon skill trees per instance are not useful because the weapons are so much worse than other ones.

The grind in this game is real too, Upgrading your base takes tons of resources and that stamina usage makes your character constantly hungry and thirsty. It can be frustrating constantly having to feed that black hole in your characters body. Your character can get broken arms and legs that worsen and lengthen their time to heal when you use them, making playing boring when you are injured because you can hardly do anything and if you do do anything it's done slowly and with a chance of worsening your injury. The realism can be annoying. It's a zombie apocalypse...it's already a fantasy, why try to be so realistic?
At night time too, it is very dangerous, and unless you build some kind of mine, there is practically nothing to do at night, unless you go for a night raid which can be very dangerous. Another issue is the lack of lighting- you need a helmet light mod or a flashlight or a torch but its completely random if you find them, and they also take up a free hand (besides the helm light mod which is rare to find and you need a helmet) so it can be hard to fight unless you place the torch down (you can't dow that with a flashlight...) The game is constantly dark, and flashlights should be more common and you should be able to hold them opposite a weapon.

Overall, this game is a challenging but unique survival game that is not polished in the slightest, but nonetheless a fun game, especially if you have some buddies to play with.

It's a very fun medieval battle simulator and I do recommend it. However, it is slowly dying and it is inhabited by sweaty try hards. If you want a more casual experience, definitely play Horde. I am good at only the basics of the game, but at a point, I could contend with some of the scrubs in the duels and win a couple, but now I lose almost every time because I suck. It is a very deep combat game. It's very skill based. I'm sure it's satisfying to become a good dueler, but it will suck your life away doing it.
Only get this if you're willing to grind out, or else you will get smashed.

Quick Update: If you want an easier game with less absurdities, try Chivalry 2! I love Mordhau and all the meme potential it has, and the dialogue never gets old, but Chiv 2 has it's own fair share of quips and such to keep the memes flowing. I suck in Mordhau, but I'm pretty decent in Chivalry 2 at the moment(could just be because it's a new game with the average players not being good). Mordhau's fighting system gets to the point where you have to be a demi-god to win. The strategies that good players use are so hard to learn and extremely difficult to win against if you're an unskilled player. If you know how to parry (feinting doesn't hurt, either) in Chiv 2 and swing you will do OK. That's not to say the combat isn't deep in Chiv 2, it is. It just makes things easier with feinting, chambering, and all the other advanced techniques still in there but easier to do. I have a lot more fun with Chivalry in the competitive modes than in Mordhau.

Would I recommend picking up Mordhau? Sure, it's a great game. But as it stands, I would pick Chivalry 2 over Mordhau. Chiv 2 even adds new stuff, like bashing, power attacks, special attacks, and class specific abilities from fire bombs to a battle horn that heals your teammates.

Try both games, see what you like, but just know that they are both GOOD games. As someone who has played Mordhau a while, I just personally prefer Chivalry 2.

The game is interesting and a unique departure from the typical Resident Evil game while at the same time still maintaining its key characteristics, with a protagonist battling evils and achieving his/her goal through solving puzzles and killing foes. You can collect treasures and sell them to the Merchant (who actually has a personality, unlike RE5's merchant), and upgrade and modify your weapons to a great degree. You can even buy custom parts for the weapons which is a new feature as far as I know. The environments are interesting and varied and have an eerie atmosphere despite the game being more action-focused. To those who complain about the lack of horror clearly haven't played the game, because there is one particular part where the horror eclipses even what is considered "the scariest" RE game (RE1), in my opinion. There is great action throughout the game and a good amount of puzzles that require more than an elementary schooler's logical skills (cough cough, RE4 and 5). I also like that they took inspiration from RE4, which in my eyes is one of the best RE games at least in terms of everything but story (story is nothing special in that game). The inventory system is great and crafting items something I like too. Moreover, killing the game and then having the Duke make you a dish to gain permanent buffs is a cool idea. I also like the Duke in general. It's just nice to have a merchant with a personality again. He's a nice comforting, corpulent presence in a world full of enemies who want to kill you. He is definitely a welcome addition.

It's a well balanced game, but there are definitely flaws. Ethan's lines and his delivery is pretty corny and downright stupid, as if a twelve year old wrote his lines. Moreover, the game has a weird difficulty curve. Standard is pretty easy because you are basically constantly getting bullets and once you upgrade your guns, you can pretty much take out any foe with ease, even though the enemies AT first seem very much like bullet sponges. Hardcore on the other hand (at least at the START), was so hard that I couldn't beat the first village ambush. You die in two hits, and unloading your whole clip does basically nothing to the Lycans as if they're getting hit by BB's.

I would say that Dimitrescu and Beniviento are very easy boss fights. The doll boss fight is barely a fight. You figure out a puzzle, and then you run around finding her and then Ethan stabs her in a scripted sequence and she dies. Dimitrescu's fight is very easy. You get a ton of ammo, and all you do is shoot her when she is exposed from her weird mold monster dragon form. She's very easy to dodge and kill.

The other two boss fights aren't really challenging either, but they're at least a bit difficult. Mother Miranda is not really hard or really easy but it's really due to the fact that she's just a bullet sponge. It's the same with most enemies, particularly those big mini bosses like Urias or the werewolves. They just take a lot of shots to kill, but they're very predictable and easy to avoid. It can be kind of annoying knowing that you're gonna face this mini-boss and monotonously shoot him over and over and avoid his telegraphed hits.

The story is interesting in my opinion. I thought it was a cool twist and pinning Redfield as a red herring bad guy was an interesting idea. However, Ethan isn't really the most likeable protagonist, and I'm kinda glad his saga is over. Moreover, at the same time, the premise is so simple that it seems like they didn't even care about the story that much...

Ethan was cool for a bit, but I'd rather have Leon or Chris as the next protagonist. Where has Leon been?

Anyway, this game is really pretty good. It has its flaws, BUT, I still recommend it definitely. I would give it a 4/5.

This game, as is well documented, is definitely a more action-oriented Resident Evil game. Most of the game is in the bright daylight and although bright horror is possible, it doesn't inflict as much horror as it could had it been dark. The story is basically a continuation of RE4, and it's not to be taken too seriously. The controls are tight, killing enemies is fun, and it's pretty straightforward to figure out where to go next. The game actually has some difficult moments too, especially if you play on Veteran difficulty. The game has some very tense moments that maybe don't lead to feelings of fear and terror but instead anxiety and a sense of a bit of worry. However, it's really not scary in the typical sense. I don't hate that it's not that scary, but I also enjoy a balance of scares and action, and this game doesn't provide that. It has a nice RE formula, puzzles and action, treasure collecting, upgrading your guns, etc. I've always enjoyed that RE4 style. However, the inventory system is pretty crappy and is a big downgrade from 4 imo. Obviously, the over the shoulder style is nice though and much preferred over the fixed camera angle style of the antiquated earlier RE's.

There's a nice enemy variety, a good selection of guns, treasures, and varied encounters that keep the game fresh. You can play with a friend, which is recommended for added fun and to not worry about Sheva's awful AI (she's usable but definitely not great)

However, my main critique is that it is basically a worse version of RE4. The inventory system is worse, the enemies aren't as menacing, the environments aren't as memorable, the story is worse, the twist is overused, and Chris, although he is cool, is nowhere near as interesting and fun as Leon in my opinion. Sheva being there also tones down the tenseness of being swarmed by enemies immensely but it's kind of a double edged sword because having a friend play with you adds a lot of fun. The mercenary mode is really fun in 5 from what I remember (last time I played it must've been 10 years ago) though.
Overall, I recommend picking this up if you want a fun coop game. It's definitely not bad, just a far cry from RE4.

Edit: Mercenary Mode is the only advantage this game has over 4. It has way more characters, maps, and melee moves than 4. However, 4 is better in just about every other way. The Mercenary Mode is definitely one main reason to pick up this game especially on sale.

Disclaimer: I RECOMMEND you buy this game on sale, not full price.

This game can be fun, but it's unpolished and has tons of issues.. I haven't found a proper balance- Rookie is so damn easy that you can easily drop 60 points 10 rebs, asts, and steals (per game), and WIN almost every single game. The AI of your team also seems to be fairly on point. Pro is basically the same- it's slightly more difficult, but it's still really easy. Then, All-Star is more reasonable, but it's still not easy. Actually being able to steal the basketball, being able to pass it without getting a turnover, and making shots more than missing becomes a somewhat rare occurence. Your team AI becomes worse, and the opposing team's AI improves. Superstar is more of the same, however making shots becomes even more difficult, and your team AI becomes garbage, whilst the opposing team plays top-notch. Attempting to steal the ball will most of the time lead to a reach-in foul. Turnovers become extremely prevalent in this difficulty, as it seems the opposing team intercepts 50 percent of your passes. But, although I have bashed these difficulties, it still is very possible to win, it's just most games will be a nail-biter. Also, it will likely be not very fun, as you will miss shots way more often, get fouls way more easily, and accumulate turnovers at a ridiculous rate. But, the Hall of Fame difficulty is the real problem with this game. Shots simply don't go in for you or your team anymore; you'll be lucky to make 20 percent of your threes. Steals simply won't happen for you (be prepared to get fouled out), or your team anymore (probably for the other team though). Turnovers will make up a big part of your stats....and you simply will not have fun at this point. It's very unlikely you will win at this difficulty unless you are very skilled. You essentially have to do everything yourself, as your team becomes useless, while the opposing team excels.

The whole difficulty curve thing is just ONE issue with this game. It is so unpolished, with voice actor messups included in the game, pointless and boring cutscenes, repetitive dialogue, server issues, and an insane amount of hackers within those servers..

If you want to have fun, and you aren't that good, play rookie/pro. It's easy, but at least it's actually enjoyable. HoF is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, Superstar is stressful, and All-Star MIGHT be okay (I don't remember this one too well. I just know as the difficulty increases, it generally just becomes even less fun. I don't recall a huge difference between All-Star and Superstar). I just feel as if they release these games without even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thinking. There are so many transparent issues with this game... that it's just absurd. Every aspect of this game seems to have some abnormality that ruins it in some way.

I would buy this game on sale, maybe, but definitely not for full price. The online mode is pretty bad- it's filled with hackers, and it's definitely not noob friendly( I lost most of the time). It also has a host of server issues. This game in general is unpolished, and the difficulty curve is just straight-up dumb. I'll give this game a 5/10, but I'm gonna put this as not recommended. There's too many issues that can only be overlooked under a cheaper pricetag.

P.S. I wrote this when I was worse at the game, and thus this made my review a tad more negative. The difficulties above All-Star are pretty ridiculous, but All-Star is relatively reasonable and not overly arduous after playing for a while. This game truly is a grind, it's unpolished, but it's very fun, and basically a necessity if you are a big NBA fan. Once again however, ONLY buy it on sale.

TLDR; Buy on sale. Game is a massive grindfest, really unpolished, and flawed in so many ways, but it can be incredibly fun. If you're a big NBA fan, and the game is on sale, I wouldn
t question buying it.
