If you’re looking for a fast-paced, dark fantasy RPG that pulls influences from Dark Souls, Destiny, and Tarkov, I highly recommend it.

Feels like Klei's take on 2d Monster Hunter.
You go into a mission, either solo or in a group, battle through screens of enemies while collecting temporary upgrades, buying new weapons and armor and gather materials. Each missions ends with a big boss fight and unlocks a higher difficulty for the area you are in.

Between missions you go back to your main village. There you can upgrade your weapons and armor, and unlock furniture, stuff for you town.

The weapons are the main selling point imo. Like in Monster Hunter they completely change how you play the game and all have hidden mechanics that you come across organically just by messing around and playing.

The main problem at the moment is that ranged weapons seem to outclass the melee weapons in every way because a lot of the enemies have attacks that only affect you if you are close.

If you are a fan of Monster Hunter and run based games, and want to try something different, i highly recommend it

7/10.
A deeply flawed RTS game with a campaign worth playing.
Get it on a deep sale. It is in no way worth 60$.

TLDR: A RTS that needs some work. Campaign in a rough spot, co-op fun but has performance issues.
At the moment i recommend the game ONLY if you want to play a 1v1 RTS games. Everything else needs some more time in the oven.

The review will be updated over time.

First the Good:
Good beginner RTS thanks to the innovative build hotkeys, auto groups and helper AI.
It feels like a mix between WC3 and SC2 in a good way.
The 1v1 pvp mode is fantastic and by far the best thing about this game. It brings back found memories of early SC2.
Factions are varied and have a ton of depth.
Co-op is good but suffers from performance issues when there are a lot of units on screen.

The Mixed:
There is no way to learn what each faction does in the main menu. Coming from AOE4 which has a dedicated learn tab in the main menu this feels like a HUGE oversight.
The game expects you to go online and look up information.

The Bad :
The campaign is not in a good spot and it feels like no effort has gone into it which is a shame because they are charging money for them. The cut scenes and models are real ugly up close and the missions feel uninspired.
This was a thing i was incredibly excited for because i truly believe you can tell some great stories with RTS games.
I hope they put more effort into it in the future.

There is no dedicated skirmish mode or any decent AI to fight against.

Edit: Sound has been fixed and no longer destroys your ears

Play it with Spanish VA.

I finished it twice and got the true ending and finished all optional bosses and have very few bad things to say about the game. There are a few spots that have some incredibly annoying and unfun enemies and some later levels have a few to many instant death pits/spikes and feel poorly designed. Another thing i found frustrating is that i had to use a wiki to see how to get the good and true ending. You can also fail some quest unknowingly by just entering a area and leaving or killing a boss to early.

Other than that there is nothing really like it out there. The art and music are out of this world. Bosses are fun and the world and story are incredible. I highly recommend going through this game once on normal and then getting the true ending and fighting the DLC bosses on NG .
Can't wait to jump into the second one.

Better than Part 1 but still not as good as the main game.
It still feels like the enemies they added work against everything that made base Doom eternal so good.
They can't be CCd, You can't target weak points, The terrible turrets and spirit enemies make their return and they again have a section where you have to fight two marauders at once.

The story tries to be epic but it feels so rushed. It feels like someone saw End game once and decided that this is how all action stories have to end. Speaking of the end; the endboss might be one of the worst bosses i've ever fought against. You literally just run around him in circles and wait for him to attack, shoot and stun him and then blast him with a machine gun.

I loved my time with base Doom eternal but the DLC definitely soured the experience a bit for me.
If you really want this don't buy this for full price if you can help it.

I have mixed feelings on Doom Eternal.
On one hand is the perfectly crafted combat system that requires you to switch between weapons to exploit the enemy's weakness while also carefully planning the use of your gadgets to get ammo and armor.

On the other hand is the terrible nonsensical story and lore that the game tries to shove in your face. It's badly written and feels like it tries to hard to be badass and epic. Doom 2016 handled it perfectly in my opinion. Keep the lore in the background while focusing on the action and letting the gameplay speak for itself.

I'll still recommend Doom eternal but everything other than the gameplay feels like a step back from Doom 2016.

More of Doom eternal but doubling down on some of its faults with more platforming, new and very frustrating enemies and plenty of pointless cutscenes.

If i could give a mixed review i would. Get this if you want more doom eternal but if you are satisfied after the main campaign just skip this.
