This game is an excellent example of a simple, stripped down factory game (no "economy", no enemies, no disasters), where the addictiveness comes from the gameplay itself, not some "game theory" mechanic. Super nostalgic! I guess I really miss simple(r) games, where the gameplay is what keeps you coming back for more, not some sleazy (or manipulating) hook and/or social features.

This is not exactly an idler game, but there will be some idle'ing involved, be warned... ;)

Super active developer (Discord, GitHub, etc) and have I mentioned it's open source? <3

One caveat: while being a Javascript game, and the Windows and Linux clients being just Electron apps, there's no macOS version. Not a negative point per se, but just a (sad) note. I know the developer isn't really into macOS and so, understandably, doesn't really understand macOS app distribution (especially with how much tighter Apple has gotten with certification and stuff), but I really think it's something that should be there. Hoping someone can step up and help him out on that (I'd give it a shot myself, but I'm not a JS dev). :)

Looking forward to following development on this one... :)

Let's get something out of the way: No Man's Sky is NOT a multiplayer game. Sure, they have added some rudimentary multiplayer capabilities (i.e. instanced, up to 4 friends, etc), but that's not what I'm talking about. NMS is a game absolutely designed to be a single-player experience. Any and all multiplayer features that exist or may come to exist are just to improve longevity and replayability. But the single player is THE experience to have. It's a game that pauses everything when you ALT-TAB, even though your discoveries and planets are available for other players to visit; it's a lonely journey of discovery and adventure. Sure, that might not be the game for you, but that is the game it was meant to be and is.

If you're looking for an MMO-like experience, skip NMS.
If you're looking for a co-op game to play with your buddies, skip NMS.
If you're looking for a game where you'll sink a ton of hours into, where you'll experience finding that gem of a procedurally generated planet that you **have** to share on Reddit, a game that translates the feeling of being a tiny spec in the infinity of Universe, of searching for purpose and meaning while developing your skills and acquiring technology and vehicles in RPG-esque way, than NMS is the game for you.

The co-op and multiplayer aspect are just added bonus, and very welcome at that. But they were never and will never be the core of the NMS experience. Any one getting into this game for those features will inevitably dislike the game. Any one who gets into this game for the lonely experience and then finds those features will be pleasantly surprised.

A quick note about Hello Games: I bought this game at launch, saw the hate and didn't play it for nearly 2 years (post-NEXT). I was afraid the hate would make the developers abandon the game to work on something else new, a clean slate. To my pleasant surprise, they've been at it for over 2 years, with regular releases, decent communication with the community, a bug tracker where anyone can submit bugs, etc. I know it's popular to hate on Sean and Hello Games, but I have nothing but praise. They were pushed into an unfortunate "perfect storm" of a launch, but didn't back away from their vision and goals for the game. They kept at it and have been making the game closer and closer to their original vision. Here's to hoping they keep working on it for years to come. I'd love to have my kids play this when they are old enough to experience it themselves... Kudos and godspeed, folks! o7

Terrible game. After 30 minutes the novelty wore out and every action felt repetitive and boring. If you like football, you'll hate this game. It's simply horrific and I'm embarrassed I even spent money on this...

FWIW, I played almost 2 hours, hoping it would pick back up and I'd find it enjoyable. Nope. 15-20 minutes of novelty is all you'll get out of this, so totally not worth the price. You're welcome!

While I'm enjoying playing through the game, the game's save system really throws me off: it only auto-saves at specific locations; when trying to quit the game it'll warn you by telling you the time when it last saved (which then you have to compare with your current time and try to remember if you did anything important).

The storyline is pretty interesting, but the graphics are as incredible as the art (I play at the highest settings).

Hard to recommend as a favorite, but definitely a cute game with an involving story.

CS:GO Review
Great game! I've been a CS player for many years but stopped playing it actively a while back. I was hesitant about buying CS:GO but I ended up not resisting it. I was very pleasantly surprised with how well it ran on my old laptop and how enjoyable it was. Still trying to learn the new hitbox and buy system but, overall, I highly recommend this game to any gamer, particularly FPS or even CS folks... ;)
