I had to refund the game as I couldn't play it with my XBOX360 controller. I could navigate the menus but as soon as the game started nothing worked.

I don't normally play point & click's but decided to try this one due to a bit more spare time on my hands recently, the fact that it was included in a bundle and it looked like it had a unique graphical style.

At points during the five hours or so I spent with the game it had moments that could've converted me to the genre. The game had some scenes that followed logic and there were a couple of puzzles that gave a degree of satisfaction to solve. Sadly, the majority of puzzles were convoluted and followed little logic. The last chapters were the ones that carried the most guilt. I found myself just wandering around, finding a new item and then having to revisit every object and NPC to see if the new item would interact with it to further my progress. In the end I had to regrettably resort to a walkthrough, checking the other reviews I seem to be not alone with this.

The overall experience felt cumbersome and the story had no real depth. If the game was any longer than it was I wouldn't have persevered to the end (even though I used a guide).

The game is not a complete travesty and may appeal to fans of the genre? It's not put me off enough to not try another point & click, but I won't be recommending Truberbrook in a hurry.

Early Access Review
This game holds a lot of promise. I had fun playing the one level demo. The devs are really friendly and ultra-responsive.

The game feels good and I'm sure they'll work on the game thoughout early access to make a good, complete full game.

I've had to request a refund as this game overheats my GPU. Trying to play on a 970 in 1440p (also overheats in 1080p...). No other game does this for me, No idea why this would happen for a fairly static game with few/rare animations.

Played this with a friend via Parsec (software to enable local co-op games to be played through internet). It was a pretty good experience but we both felt like the game was more drawn out than it needed to be and a number of the puzzles were either rehashed or had clunky solutions.

The game would've been better at about two thirds of the length via the removal of some of the weaker puzzles.

Graphically the game is pretty and colourful although the theme remains similar from start to finish. Maybe this could also be a reason we both felt fatigued towards the end?

Overall, the game is worth playing with a friend and I'd give the game a thumbs up, but with a rating of around 6.5/10.

Just finished playing this with a friend who was kind enough to gift me the second copy (Thanks Mr Twister!). Overall was good fun, although if I'm honest I think the puzzles were a little hit-and-miss. Some were very good but a couple left a little to be desired.

It's an interesting format - playing co-op but through no network connection. As other reviewers have said, it's very "escape room" style and I'm hoping this will open up the door for more variants. My personal preference for puzzle style would be similar to the "symbol machine" towards the end : it was a fairly straight forward puzzle to work out what we had to do, but the implementation of it took some doing!! More of this please!!!

Recommended for an evening of co-op puzzling, a little frustrating at times but that could come down to how each puzzle conforms to your cognitive style.

Another board game marred by game-breaking bugs.

It's actually a wonderful adaption of a physical boardgame, which I've never played, but will buy at some point. At first sight, it looks similar to Carcasonne, but it has some unique mechanics that set it aside. The main two mechanics that work really well are 1) a bidding system for tiles whereby each player sets prices for the tiles they are dealt and 2) random victory conditions for each match.

The bidding system determines which tiles you get to play on your turn or how much gold you have for future turns. The random victory conditions are determined by having 4 random scoring conditions selected at the start of the game, chosen from a selection of 16. Also different to Carcassonne is that each player makes their own individual land as opposed to everyone contributing to one big kingdom.

The game for the best part, plays well, looks good and has a good level of strategy mixed with some randomness. The reason I'm down-voting is a number of "minor" bugs that don't look like the devs will fix. When playing in async, the game doesn't show the final round, so you don't get to see how you won/lost!! For me, this is unforgivable. After playing for a number of days of async, why wouldn't you want to know what your opponents did on their last turn? You get to see the score, but not how we got there.

The game occasionally doesn't allow you to take your turn which has a negative effect on your rank as you end up losing the match. A lesser bug is sometimes the game gets stuck when you're placing tiles. It seems to be when you've rotated them a few times. This can be worked around by exiting the game and going back to it, so more an annoyance than game-breaking.

Another annoyance is the way that the game decides to zoom itself in during the replay, which means having to zoom out over-and-over again if you don't prefer this view.

I could almost forgive these flaws if the devs cared to respond or give a glimpse that they may try and fix them at some point but the game seems abandoned by the devs as they have most likely moved onto other projects. It's for this reason I have to down-vote what would otherwise be a fantastic game.
