If you are looking to outright hack in a competitive game without the repercussions that come with hacking, while having both the support of the community and the developers as you do it this game is your most soaked wet dream come true.

Virtually every lobby has one or more players using ReShade with togglable shaders that give them an unfair advantage.

Bear witness in glorious 144p (Hunt: Showdown's highest and most intense graphics setting) as the Crytek devs outright acknowledge and desperately defend its usage like a man vehemently defending his wife's right to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by other men. This is all in contrast of ReShade giving the unwashed gaming-chair gremlins the ability to use ironsight weapons as observational telescopes, turn night maps into day, remove fog, see through choke bomb clouds, remove glare, remove flash from flash bombs, and probably the ability to ♥♥♥♥ your mother too.

I am being very generous by giving this game a positive review. If I could give a neutral review I would.

Pros:
• The story is pretty moderate but informative. The game passively gives you a good idea of what's happening in the world without it feeling forced or having you dig through lore in the levels unlike a lot of modern games
• The graphics might not be the prettiest but they are consistant with its style. The MSPaint-esque style is something one hardly sees in video games, so I congratulate the developer for making it work.
• I would say the characters are good, but this is mostly just limited to Puro since he is just about the only character you can really talk with, with the exception of one character later in the game.
• The music was wonderful and absolute joy to listen to. It felt really fitting with the game, combined with the art style it gave me a positive Undertale vibe when playing
• While I'm not interested myself, If you're into either goo/latex/furries/transformation- you'll LOVE this game

Cons:
• A lot of the puzzles in this game are just typical puzzle tropes commonly found as fill-content in other games. Puzzles such as box-pushing, ice-sliding, and press-enter-around-the-room-until-something-happens puzzles. That's not to say there are not any other puzzles in this game, I found the ones that involved turn-based movement to be very enjoyable.
• Some parts of the game suffer from artificial difficulty, where it does not depend on the player's skill of the game and simply requires that you know not to go in that area without any prior warning. The vent area has this issue the most, where you must trial and error to figure out which passageways are no-return kill zones
• Some animations & cutscenes are unskippable. My first time playing this I was completely unaware of the F12 key's function (which will send you back to the main menu where you can restart from a save). Even with F12 you will be forced to rewatch and reread cutscenes that happened just before your death; forcing you to spam Enter until it ends so you can continue playing.
• In plenty parts of the game it felt more fetishy than integral to the story of the game. Some cutscenes I felt were just unneccesary and designed to get a more sexual response from the player than to progress the story.
• If you're disgusted or not interested into either goo/latex/furries/transformation- you might find this game to a be a bit uncomfortable to play a lot, sinceall 4 of the aforementioned are integral to this game's plot and story
• I found myself frequently spending more time trying to figure out how to progress in certain areas by trail-and-error since the game doesn't tell you before hand how some of the enemies behave. This would be understandable under any other circumstance but the problem lies in that you are not given time to understand how they behave before you die, usually because you become overwhelmed with enemies before you can get an idea how they work.

I have also heard of there being severe translation issues with the game since this game was initially in Chinese. However during my playthrough these issues were very minimal; usually reserved to a slight mispelling, mispunctuation, or a missing space.

Overall I found this game to be rather irritating to play at times but looking back on it I'm glad I played it. Though because of my lukewarm feelings because of the aforementioned cons I do have an issue suggesting this game to friends.

I've been using Blender since 2.49b and I have to say it is a very powerful 3D modelling and animation tool.

There is a learning curve to Blender though, as it is mostly comprised of memorizing key commands rather than interface buttons, but once learned it becomes a very easy and fun program to use.

Also it's free and open source, that too.

The sprite and tile art are terrible- reminds me too much of the 90% of games in the GameMaker library.

Other than that, it lives up to being like Chunsoft's Mystery Dungeon line of games as mentioned in the game's description, which is worth it if you grew up with those titles and don't care much for the game's visuals.

To preface: I have played Blockland for many years. I can't remember exactly, but I believe that my dad bought this game for me back in either 2007 or 2008. The hours on Steam do not reflect the true amount that I have played this game. From early elementary school to my early high school years I would play this game from dawn to dusk on the weekends and up until my bed time after I got out of school.

However this review is moreso geared to the current state of Blockland, rather than how I feel emotionally about it and my memories of it.

Pros:
• I believe there is a lot more building flexability in this game than say, compared to popular titles such as Minecraft or Roblox. Features such as events, vehicles, emitters, real-time true dynamic lighting, and environment customization. I would say it is truely the closest you can get to playing with LEGOs online
• If you cannot find what you are looking for when building there is very likely some kind of downloadable third-party add-on you can install made by the community. These can range from a large variety new bricks, vehicles, effects, and game modes.
• Even on modern setups this game can easily render a number of bricks in the 5 digits without chugging

Cons:
• The game is just about dead. During during peak hours the game will almost never reach above 40 players. Most servers (which are usually less than about 20) are lucky if they even reach around 15 players.
• The game is exceptionally old. The first pubicly available version of Blockland (which you could consider it's "prototype" version) was released back in 2004, and didn't see a retail release until early 2007. No matter how you gauge it, the game is over a decade old at the time of the writing of this review. The game has very much passed its hayday and the chances of this game seeing a resurgance to its former number of active players is highly improbable.
• Development is at a near complete halt. Very rarely the game will have updates, but they are always minor bugfixes that most players would never notice. This is understandable since Badspot, the developer has worked on this game for over a decade as mentioned before, and has moved on to other projects.
• Because of the low player base the community outside of the game has not fared well either. The Blockland Forums, while still active and even more active than the game itself declines in users and sees less posts per day over time. At this point, the Forums serve as a lesser-known and more isolated social media site than a community forum focused on a game.

Verdict?
Blockland isn't a bad game. It's still a very good game and I will closely cherish the memories I made in my childhood playing this game. While the Blockland has changed here-and-there over the years; the gaming world changed faster than the Blockland could keep up with; thus loosing its relevancy. It may've been a hit back in 2008 but we no longer live in 2008 anymore and this type of the game isn't what people want to play anymore.

If you're a person who enjoys playing alone and has an interest in playing with what can be described as an excellent first-person CAD software with guns and rocket launchers: this game is made for you. However do not expect much multiplayer activity as those times have long passed.
