Overall a disappointment for me. Can only enjoy with mods / settings tweaking. In 2 years this will be a phenomenal game!

Ups:
- Graphics on high are very nice (given your hardware can run it)
- Stayed true to the original series in terms of story, world etc.
- Guns and other equipment feel nice to use (safe for the damage balance)
- Very atmospheric sound design
- Nice voice-acting and good story line
- Worldbuilding feels a bit off, some NPC interactions as well, but overall very good
- Some nice QoL features like "hold or toggle" for some actions
- Some interesting details for AI pathfinding (Melee enemies will run to cover if they cannot find a path to reach you. That mostly happens when you climb onto something to cheese the fight)

Downs:
- They are making us do a public beta test of a game that should be released in 2 years

Performance related
- They rely on the community to fix some of the issues
- The game runs terrible, and is allergic to GPU overclocking
- Relies on crutches like DLSS, DLAA and Framegeneration to reach an acceptable framerate (100 ). But god help you if enter a settlement, or one of the physic objects glitches out, or you let the game run for more than 3 hours.
- It should be noted that DLAA and esp. Framegeneration will introduce a noticeable increase in frametime, meaning you will have to chose between playing at ~40fps (with bad frametimes) or ~100fps (unspeakably bad frametimes)
- Low settings barely help and turn the game into a graphical nightmare

Not performance related
- NPC AI is dumb af, no other way to put it. For the most part they will make themselves very easy targets. Feels very goofy and breaks immersion. Except for those instances were they 1-tap HS you over 100m through an obstacle.
- The spawn system for NPCs is atrocious at best. Nothing will be spawned or visible beyond a certain range (~85m) so no need to ever use a sniper. In addition enemies will spawn endlessly and in positions you have already cleared, i. e. 15m behind you on a field, after you just walked through it! Making most gunfights and clearing of big compounds an actual nightmare / impossible.
- Stayed true to the original series in terms of low QoL in some places (seriously who of the dev team saw the tiny ahh UI for interacting with loot stashes, specifically the personal one, and said "ye lets ship it")
- In vanilla the stamina system is very much not fitting the amount of running / walking you will have to do
- You cannot rebind some of the actions via the settings menu. Why? Did they forget?
- Also why, just why is the aim x/y sens not 1:1 per default and cannot be changed in the settings menu?!?

My hardware:
- Ryzen 7 5800x (undervolted)
- 16GB 3600MHZ CL14
- MSI 4080
- M.2 SSD

Mods i run now (on Veteran difficulty):
- Config tweaks for performance / latency / physics
- Improved stamina but increased stamina penalties
- Reduced Consumable spawns
- Decreased healing effects and speed of health items (otherwise you can just stim your way through the game like FO4)
- Realistic gun damage, but also give the NPCs the same buff!
- Reduced Weapon wear
- Improved ledge-grabbing (bcs a former soldier cannot vault over a 40cm high obstacle in vanilla?!)
- Reduced sounds for geiger counter etc, bcs it super annoying
- Day / Night cycle at x0.25 speed

- Misc. mods to clean up UI and item names, remove collision sounds, increase interaction range, and change weapon skins

One of the weirdest gaming experiences i had.

There is tons of interesting dialog, abilities and gameplay mechanics. Didnt expect such a high amount of movement tech either.

The worst parts are the unstable performance, NPC pathfinding and some of the music tracks, but over all a very enjoyable experience.

Great amount of fun. Nice and funny story and characters.

Just wish there was less cut scenes and a way to increase the difficulty.

Boots on the ground (and walls) movement shooter with some nice mechanics and gunplay.

Story is basic but entertaining enough

Gameplay wise this one is the most fun out of the series

But for the love of god, stop trying to connect to the ubisoft servers. Why didnt you patch this, takes like half a day at most.
