TL:DR: Game hard, learn, lose zoomer brain, game fun.

Coming from Balatro the game felt slow and in a way painful. Balatro being a game where you can get ridiculous points and mind boggling synergies isn't really comparable to this game.
Dungeons and Degenerates is more about cumulative damage and minimising damage to yourself, balancing on trying to handicap your opponent, trying to prevent them from getting too much shield or damage built up, while trying to maximise the same yourself while trying to win at blackjack at the same time. Building your deck is quite RNG as you get only 4 card choices after each battle and you are in a way forced to experiment. Personally I really enjoy experimenting, finding new ways to stay afloat. Sometimes the game might feel like you're just scraping by, but it kinda compliments the story and the atmosphere of the game.
The game really doesn't let you run around defeating opponents and sometimes you might lose half of your precious health to the first opponent because the draws just weren't in favour, but during each run you gain knowledge and learn to pick your opponents based on their deck and your own build. Some opponents seem to have "OP" builds, but to beat them you might just need (not required but is easier to beat) a specific card type.

The Bouncer for example has just 2 10's and 1 21. If you can get his 21 out of the play it makes things worse as he then is unable to bust, but if you burn 1 of his 10 and the 21 he only is able to play 10 and that is easy to beat. You can also lock his 10 and hopefully burn his other 10 so he is forced to bust every round. Without modifying his deck you only pray to either get only 20 or 21 all the time to slowly damage him or pray for him to bust all the time. Otherwise he can be quite deadly at first.

The game sure has some RNG but the beauty of the game for me is learning what risks, paths, opponents and cards to take making myself better and every run takes me further closer to finish.
Currently my favourite play style is to accumulate advantage and have alot of "in hand cards" to have flexibility so the RNG with the card draws is minimal. In hand aces or negative cards can sometimes save you from a certain death.

A bit of a ramble review but I truly enjoy the game and if you're a patient person and enjoy card games or rogue likes this is the game for you.
