In the game's current form, I would say it's worth it. The story wasn't anything special, but I still enjoyed it. The side quests were also fun. Gunplay was great. Space was...meh. I wish there was more of it and more things to do in space. Decisions you make during the story don't have much affect on anything, but I didn't really expect them to. Infact, you have less interesting choices to make than games like New Vegas (which wasn't even made by Bethesdasoft).

It's a good start I guess. The game was rough on launch and many of the issues still persist. So my 'recommended' rating comes with some caveats. Remember, this is a 2023 game. I don't care if it's Bethesda. The "Bethesda engine jank" isn't quaint anymore. It's just dated and lazy.

Building custom ships was really cool, although very frustrating due to the many quirks and limitations you have. As with space combat and flight, it's a 'good start.' There's a theme here.

Base building on the other hand... miserable. Hated it. I wanted to build an industrial empire, but the janky trade route system made it such a pain in the ass it wasn't even a little bit fun. And you couldn't really build a creative or cool looking base - you're pretty limited in parts and what you can do with them. Also, is there a reason my landing pad needs to be 3 stories high? Base building is a step backwards from what we had in Fallout 4.

Bethesda jank is still in full force, despite the supposedly revamped engine. You still have a freaking loading screen for just about everything. Even some of the shops in cities force you into a loading screen to enter a tiny little cell. Yes, the engine is still 'cell' based just like Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

All in all.. the game is solidly okay. It's thoroughly average. And that's what frustrates me most. They had the opportunity to make a fantastic space opera, but didn't. This isn't the next Mass Effect. This is just Fallout or Skyrim in with spaceships.

Absolutely not.
Base game is still unplayable at 80k population. Simulation crawls. Economy is completely lifeless.

The vibe is glorious - the pod drops, the ships warping, the explosions, and the music.. it's all epic. The performance has been improved significantly since launch - I rarely encounter any bugs or optimization issues anymore.

This game is an absolute blast with friends. Look forward to delivering more Freedom. FOR DEMOCRACY

This was a fun game in my childhood on the N64.. unfortunately the PC port is clunky. Controls are pretty clunky with keyboard & mouse. Also pretty bad with controller. Makes playing pretty difficult.

I bought all of the other companies. Government didn't shut me down for being a monopoly.

Jokes aside, game is pretty fun. Would recommend.

The gameplay loop is a really fun ship disassembly puzzle. The explosions and physics are spectacular so failing doesn't even really suck. The storyline is kinda meh... the mustache-twirlingly evil corporation and black-and-white storytelling of the Corp-vs-Employee Union struggle is kinda ridiculous but if you ignore all of that (which is pretty easy, it's all just background conversation) the game is really good.

Recommended buy.

Despite a really rough launch, the game eventually made it to a playable and even fun state. I would definitely recommend adding this to your library if you enjoy scifi, story, and an open-world!

Performance is suboptimal with an RTX 3080, especially on the big open-world map. Other than that, the story is good and the combat feels fluid and exciting. Recommend.

This game is extremely disappointing in its current state. Traffic AI is worse than the last one - the simulation slows to a snails pace on speed 3 at around 80k population even with a 9700k and a RTX 3080. Getting RCI grids to line up properly (even in a grid) is awful, even if you turn off snap-to-guidelines. Various economy and services bugs persist even after patches. And what happened to Quays? They're just gone and incredibly irritating to build now. Wonder if they're saving it for the Bridges DLC?

I wanted to love it, but the game just falls far too short. It seems like they focused so much on making an awesome road building mechanics but neglected just about everything else.

A really good adventure game. Almost no bugs, good story, good performance, and the open-world didn't feel overwhelming like some.
