A fun twist on visual novels. Instead of choosing dialog options and taking sides, you serve drinks. It sounds simple, and maybe stupid, but the writing makes it work incredibly well.

The writing deserves a lot of credit; no mistranslations or Engrish like you find in some VNs. The characters are well-written and full of surprises. The jokes cover the whole range between sharp, vulgar wit and subtle, playful digs. I found myself genuinely invested in the outcomes of people, and I couldn't help but smile when I got to see some of the regular customers.

The music shows a lot of polish as well. It fits with the game's setting, and there's a lot of variety. A lot of time was spent on the soundtrack and it shows.

The best way to play this game is with one hand on the mouse, and the other alternating between a drink and a snack; I suggest sunflower seeds since you'll be doing a lot of reading and you'll have time to nibble through them.

I spent 30 hours on one playthrough, and I can't wait to start a new game and see what else I can find. Highly recommended. Whether you have always had fantasies of tending bar, or you love dystopian future settings, or character driven story telling, or simply just chill out style games, this is for you.

My only real gripe is a lack of borderless windowed mode. Obviously this is a minor complaint.
