It makes for a decent screensaver I suppose and it's cheap but it takes up too much space in my opinion and it sometimes crashes on opening.

Do I recommend this? Well, Yes..and No. The sequel Original Sin 2 is better honestly. With this one the pacing is definitely off, it's hard to level especially early game which you are supposed to do all in the first town for awhile, and it's VERY dialogue and text heavy making it sometimes a chore to get through.

The player characters are also kind of generic by default and most of the companions are just okay and not as interesting as in the second game (with the exception of Madora who I heavily recommend teaming with).

HOWEVER, this game has some of the most intricate mechanics for a CRPG I've ever played. It's also one of the best comedy RPGs and the dialogue and characters are very funny and well written enough. I may edit my review later as I'm only partway into it but the story does seem to be taking off a bit after you get done with the sort of boring town stuff and go out in the world with actual battles.

In conclusion I'd say it's a decent enough CRPG, I haven't played many but if you can slog through the slow start there is something to enjoy here. But again, the second game does everything this one does much better.

I have a general dislike for most walking simulators. But this odd one actually incorporates elements of collectathons, metroidvanias and egglikes. It also has some puzzle elements here and there. Don't get me wrong it can still get tedious and there is no way to run and some puzzles took me awhile but the overall atmosphere and aesthetic is interesting enough to have kept me going at least for a time.

It's weird and has a lot of memes (some of which may be cringe to some) but is it worth 15 bucks? Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the person. It's not the most amazing game in existence but it is interesting enough. But on a sale at 6 bucks I would say it for sure is worth the look and it strangely didn't feel like that much of a waste of time to me at least. So I will recommend it at a 7.5 out of 10.

Ah Postal 2. A unique and somewhat topical game with the late Gary Coleman in it that I consider to be in many ways the videogame equivalent to South Park for pushing the envelope. It's infamous for not only being offensive to just about every demographic, but also illegal to play in New Zealand, and bashed by even the old time CNN's Marc Saltzman and talking media heads who biasedly called it "more offensive then fun" playing up to the hyper-offended radical puritanism and censorship advocating which formerly existed on the political right, and now oddly dominating the political left in 2021.

This game takes shots at everybody no matter who they are. Within this game and its expansion regarding the source of the controversies around this game you can piss on, piss off, maim, electrocute, dismember and kill all kinds of NPCs representing Rednecks, Islamic Terrorists, Priests, Gimps, Hippies, Game Devs, Survivalists, Midgets, Bikers, Gingers, Lab Test Cats that tornado spin like the Loony Tune Taz, Silent Hill inspired Gary Coleman Zombies (All I could say is this game gets quite weird and surrealist at times in the latter half) and many more..

Some say its aged poorly like milk considering the political landscape of today (again, the puritanical and PC cancel culture types now mainly dominate the left wing in our time) but if you aren't offended easily it is honestly pretty fun and a solid FPS shooter with some wild mechanics and very un-PC humor.

The radio host-like voice of the Postal Dude Rick Hunter does a good job and a lot of the stuff he says is genuinely funny. It does have a number of unique mechanics and never gets boring. This is also a much better option after getting home from a lousy work day in releasing unbridled aggression for a game then something like "Hatred" in my opinion.

Overall I would say it's well worth getting along with the expansion especially on sale. Is it the greatest FPS of all time? No and it has its flaws even in the gameplay aspect and is somewhat still buggy and has a tendency to crash at the worst of times. But it is one of the most interesting, unique and entertaining ones to play. I give it a solid 8 out of 10.

Aside from the infamy this game has there is not much to this honestly. And if you want to get out some unbridled aggression in games GTA, Postal and DOOM are probably better for this. That said the overhaul mod which lets you play in first and third person does make it a bit better but there is hardly any direction of where to go or what to do in this. Definitely get it on sale I got it for only a buck so worth it I guess..maybe. It wasn't really all that disturbing and dark but more laughable then anything with how the protagonist talks. On sale it's probably worth it but otherwise I would say nah.

Very good game! In fact this may be my 2nd favorite Open World FPS next to PREY 2017 (Yes even more fun then Far Cry in my opinion). It feels like a mix between Left 4 Dead (also having content from the L4D series), Far Cry 3, Mirrors Edge (with the parkour system which is even more fleshed out then ME), and a bit of Dead Rising with some crazy and unique craftable weapons. I would say its definitely worth it and I haven't even touched the multiplayer yet Co-Op or other stuff. I always had fun and stuff to do and will probably start new game plus with a friend its just that good.

Despite an interesting and engaging opener, some comedic and quirky humor (some lands and some doesn't) and mechanics that are arguably in depth and unique(ish?) to other RPGs, I would NOT classify this as a TRUE fully open ended RPG as it is so often touted and also not a great one for escapism from the real world. I will explain exactly why. The positives of this are at this point well known and often repeated by others in other reviews so I won't repeat them myself and agree with most of them which makes it all the much more of a shame for me to recommend against it. So what are the negatives?

-The first is that there is just an EXCESSIVE amount of filler dialogue and text to go through and one will inevitably skip it if they have a life and job outside of videogames as the time sink for just that alone can be utterly brutal. It's not just dialogue but FILLER dialogue as well and some of which is just circular word salad for the sake of appearing intellectual when it really isn't, and in fact is a bit pretentious. I'm not against an engaging thought provoking story but much of this leads me to believe that the writer/s seem to be trying (and failing) to come off as so much smarter and holier then thou but anyone can use big words and interject needless and excessive snails-pace self-important college professor commentary when the point can be made much more succinctly. And much of the dialogue is often personally biased (not for the characters but the writers themselves) which leads into my next complaint.

-Another (and perhaps the most egregious) flaw here is the forceful nature of injecting the writers personal closed-minded politics into a so called 'open-ended RPG' game touting freedom of choice. I won't get into what side they are very clearly skewed to but at one point you are forced to do a quest for someone with hard-line politics that the player may disagree with. If you do anything to a different side you are forced to be metaphorically crippled and have less to work with for the remainder of the game and labeled as bad or wrongthink not just by characters but also by the game itself. It does feel at times as if it's forcing an agenda down the players throat. Regardless of what political alignment you fall on this is a negative for this kind of game. You cannot truly be exactly the type of character you want to be in this.

-The third complaint I have which may be arguably more minor but still a factor in my opinion is the dour and depressing atmosphere, lack of variety in set pieces and tone, and the game sticking to only one particular setting and theme which can get old at times in combination with all the filler and political nonsense.

In conclusion, the sad thing is that I very much WOULD like to have a game which does have the positive and engaging and unique aspects that this one has perhaps with a different theme and setting (the cop/detective theme is cool for a bit but I'm more into fantasy type stuff for RPGs maybe with more combat as well to spice it up) and obviously without the negatives I described above. If you took out all the filler and politics and left in the humor and player choice it would be miles better but then there would be barely any of the game left at that point. I feel this is EXTREMELY overrated and cannot recommend it despite it's recent popularity. Overall a disappointment.

Got it with the deluxe edition. Worth it for 15 bucks? Probably not but some outfits are cool. Gaius looks sharp in one and Millium is cute in the other one.

This is no doubt one of the best JRPG series. Great story and cast of characters. Only thing with the first game in each arc is its a slow burn prologue and this one is perhaps the worst offender of becoming a bit of a slog throughout much of it as its working to establish familiarity between the characters and the areas you will revisit in future titles. At times it is difficult for me to stick with it. However towards the end it picks up with more epic moments and a cliffhanger ending much like Trails in The Sky First Chapter did.

While I would put this as my least fun/favorite so far in the entire Trails series it's still worth playing if you are a veteran fan like myself and it's interesting as the events in this game take place at the same time as the Crossbell Arc just in a different land and with a different group. The combat is fun and the moments and festival section at the end is great and the characters are all very strong once you get to know them. I am aware that the series gets much better after this prologue game. I still recommend it despite the flaws.

Early Access Review
Early Review to be finished later. So far very fun especially for Early Access. Seems to have the potential for many random events to happen.
