8 hours of driving and no achievements. Nice

Out of all the Codemasters F1 games that I have, this might be the game that I`ll play the least. Yes, it has some amazing features that make me want to play the game. But there`s one big problem. The lag. When i play career mode, multiplayer, even time trial, there`s always lag spikes. Pretty much every single lap, there is a lag spike. It`s immensley frustrating whenever i play online, because whenever i pass someone there is a chance that i lag and suddenly he is in front of me. And the lag makes it almost impossible to catch up to someone.

I can remember, in an online race around Azerbaijan, the lag was INTENSE, and it was completely unplayable. And you know what the most frustrating thing was? I COULD HAVE WON! Azerbaijan is one of my best tracks (I almost beat the world record once around there), and i was catching up rapidly to the guy in first (I had a damaged front wing, but still). So because of the lag, i still haven`t won an online race yet in this game (If i remember correctly).

Now that my rant about lag is over, we can go into things that i like about the game. The content. I love it. The career mode is better than ever with an improved RnD section, and a much improved AI. And then there`s the regulation change, wich made me freak out when i first heard of it. I haven`t encountered it yet (still in my first season), but you can finally watch AI backmarker teams climb up the ladder.

The public online mode is now spilt up into two parts; Ranked and Unranked. Unranked is basically the same as the original online mode, where you can play with a grid full of dumbasses that look up to Maldonado. Ranked is basically like a competitive mode, where you play with a skill rating and a safety rating that corresponds to the way you`re playing. But there is one thing that i don`t like about online mode (Not incuding lag. Cause you know how i feel about that.), the penalties. There have been many times where i have gotten a penalty or a warning (Warnings still effect the safety rating) for the dumbest things.

One time i had to let a car pass me because i passed that car in a yellow flag zone (note that the yellow flag appeared for NO REASON). You know what makes this situation stupid and unneeded? THE PLAYER THAT I PASSED HAD ALREADY LEFT THE GAME BEFORE I PASSED HIM, SO HE TURNED INTO A GHOST AND WENT SLOWER THAN *Goes to google to search for the slowest thing in the world* INTERNET EXPLORER. (Oh shoot, i was supposed to talk about the things that i liked, my bad.)

And to close off this review, I`m going to have to add that the classic cars are O R G A S M I C (Had to spell it out to dodge the profanity filter). Thank you.

Oh, and you can also remove the middle part of the halo when using the cockpit camera.

I have played this game for many hours now, and i think i can say that this game is amazing, but not perfect.

The career mode is better than ever with a new upgrade system. It is great and all but i have heard of a bug where your teammate will not apply the upgrade to his car.

Online mode is as expected. Sometimes i have a breathtaking battle with another player that makes my heart beat faster, or someone just crashes right into me.


Definitely a great game.

Great story, great coop, great sandbox, great fun. One of the best games i have played.

Strongly advise to download the "gentlemen of the row" mod, as the game will constantly lag without it.
