First release in 2020 for the PS4. Reinterpretation of the PS1 classic that only shows the first 8-hours of Final Fantasy VII and stretch into a 33-hours game. The real problem is that they made structure and story changes that destroyed the magic of the original. If you haven't played FFVII before, I recommend the 1997 version first.

Note: The review is based on my Final Fantasy VII Remake playthrough on PS4 and a replay the the original FFVII (PS4 port - Midgar Part) in 2020.

First release 2004 in Japan on PC. Start of the Trails in the Sky Trilogy. Classic turn-based JRPG with elements similar to the Materia system in Final Fantasy VII. Be aware of the slow pacing at the beginning.

Another FromSoftware masterpiece which takes the „Dark Souls DNA“ and put it into an Action-adventure game.

(4) Great visuals

(5) Fixed difficulty setting

(6) Very demanding Bossfights but never unfair

(7) Native Xbox One Controller support. DUALSHOCK 4 also supported

(8) Good enemy placement

(9) Perfectly balanced progression system so you can't be overpowered

(10) Superb fast combat and satisfying parry mechanic

(11) Good level design but doesn't come up to the class of Dark Souls 1

(12) Replayability because of New Game and different endings (new bosses)

(1) 60 fps lock

(2) No ultrawide native support (only via mods)

(3) Only one default main weapon and armor

First released in 1995 for the SNES and designed by the "Dream Team" Hironobu Sakaguchi (creator of Square's Final Fantasy series), Yuji Horii (creator of Enix's Dragon Quest series) and Akira Toriyama (creator of the Dragonball mangas). The Steam version is based on the mobile port. I played it for the first time in 2018 and it's amazing how well this game has aged. For me its: Still one of the best JRPG ever made.

1. Straight forward time travel story with great pacing and no filler

3. Active Time Battle (ATM) System with NO separate fighting screen and random encounters
   
4. Superb soundtrack (composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu)
   
5. Original graphic mode: "Similar to the original pixel art"

7. Native 16:9 support
   
8. 4:3 support, to play it in fullscreen you have to change the system resolution to 4:3
   
9. Native Xbox One Controller support. DUALSHOCK 4 also supported

1. Modified mobile User Interface. No original SNES UI
   
2. Partly custom controller binding. You could only change X, Y, B and A buttons
   
3. The onscreen conroller buttons only shows the Xbox layout
