The story follows Kaban, who returns to Los Santos after spending five years in Liberty City. The death of his mother prompts his return, and he finds his family and gang, the Grove Street Families, in disarray.

Kaban, formerly known as Alex, must navigate the complexities of gang warfare, corruption, and betrayal as he works to restore his gang's former glory. Throughout the game, Kaban completes missions that involve various criminal activities, builds alliances with different characters, and unravels a deeper conspiracy involving crooked cops and rival gangs.

The narrative sees Kaban traveling across the state of San Andreas, including cities like Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas, taking on various challenges to reclaim power and seek justice for his family.
