CS:GO Review
Counter-Strike Global Offensive is a great game with great Gameplay that will take a few hundred hours to even get decent at and even after a few thousand hours there will still be a a lot to improve on. It's a highly skillbased competitive multiplayer game, that is actively supported by the developers.

If you are looking for a casual multiplayer game, this is probably not the game you are looking for. You'll have to invest a significant ammount of time to really understand the game. And some people you'll encounter will take this game a bit too serious.
You'll meet some really nice people and you'll meet some not quite so nice people aswell.

Basicly the community is like in most other multiplayer games, that people actually take serious. Some are nice people and some seem to lack any social skills.

But if you think you can look past that and like the idea to competetively play a game, then this may be the game for you.

My biggest complaints have to be not with the core gameplay itself, but with some of the business surrounding ingame items, that has developed over the years. This ranges from illegal gambling targeted at underaged children to trading cosmetic ingame items for prices that would seem less out of place at an art auction. (Most of this has been done by 3rd parties and not by valve (the developer), but should still be mentioned here.)
