It is a great game to run around, complete missions and collect stuff. Upgrades feel good as well.

The lovecraft stuff is just there for theme really, and you basically can avoid all the real dangers by just going to sleep on time (which is honestly more annoying than fun). Some of the zone "mechanics" are kind of annoying, but overall had a pretty great time.
