This an alt account. I have the game on Beth launcher since the Beta from 2018. Have 5K hours now over there, so would I recommend it... hell yes.

I've played nearly all previous Fallout games, so I would consider myself a bit of a fanboy for sure. However while previous games are intended as pure solo experiences (as the solitude makes the charm for the franchise), I was open trying out this different approach. I always wanted a coop-version deep-down (just an extra buddy was sufficient), so when Beth announced it was multi-open world I was a little bit less excited.
I still have that feeling it should have been that way, because the fallout experience lost a lot of its fallout identy by filling up the world with (max) 24 real players. Tho private servers can be used for a more lore-heavy approach, it's still not the same.
This first online version feels much more like an arcade feeling where lore (and there is actually a lot of it to discover) feels less interesting simply since real players do what they do. Beth saying in the beginning npcs are other players was really a bad idea.
But eventually you learn to live with it.

The game is still infested with bugs and it seems when they fixed one, two older ones pop up, true to the spaghetti code you'd learn to expect and accept from any bethesda fallout game.
Regardless, Bethesda wants this game to succeed and actually listens to their community, which is a rare commodity in this genre nowadays.

I've met a lot of new friends through this game, and playing with a team brings a lot of fun to the table. People help, search and are toppeak in positivity for the team, bringing brand new experiences to the fallout-universe.

My advice: always join a team and add, add, add people. You will feel wholesome when you are able to help a teammember.
