Armikrog is a Kickstarted spiritual successor to The Neverhood (1996). I was a huge fan of The Neverhood which greatly fueled my anticipation for Armikrog. Armikrog delivers exactly what you would expect from the spiritual successor: unique visuals with a playful soundtrack. And then it builds on The Neverhood with the addition of quality voice acting that perfectly fits inside this fantastical world.

Gameplay is basic point & click. You can't even view your inventory. If you click on something that requires an item you already have, Tommy reaches into his... pocket... and grabs the right item.

The puzzles are typically nonsensical and sometimes completely irrational just as you'd expect from such a game, not too dissimilar to The Neverhood.

A serious lack of options, such as audio sliders, is disappointing. The captions don't match up to exactly what the characters say, but they aren't wildly different either (I recall one comment that was WILDLY different but it felt intentional). Several audio issues such as missing sound effects, characters talking when they aren't even there.

The game uses several unfortunate ways to lengthen the game. First, it recycles a few puzzles. Second, it uses walking and retracing steps unecessarily.

There isn't much interaction between the characters. Not a whole lot of dialogue. With such great voice talent, I was hoping to hear more of it.

The game is quite short, probably less than half the length of The Neverhood.

I know the price point is going to scare away people that aren't into the point & click genre- and I can't blame them for that. Honestly, I would wait for it to come down in price.

Maybe it's the nostalgia of The Neverhood that got to me. Maybe it's the aesthetic; you can tell a ton of serious love and hard work went into the claymation. Maybe it's the off-the-wall music, which consistently lets you know you are in a foreign world with bizarre creatures.

See my let's play if you'd like to find out if this game locks you in as it did me:

A rare perspective of war from someone not participating in it, a la This War Of Mine. Sunset is an alternative take on the point and click genre meshed with a first-person narrative. While your actions and decisions do not influence the civil war happening in the streets, they do allow you to view how deep the rabbit hole goes.

While the initial gameplay is a bit repetitive, the game gets interesting the more you investigate.

Sunset will be what you make of it. If you just want to run around and complete your tasks, you will surely leave disappointed. If you let your curiosity guide you as the story unfolds, you will thoroughly enjoy Sunset.

The game is relatively quiet at first, but the soundtrack kicks in after a bit. If you're a fan of composer Austin Wintory (Journey, The Banner Saga) you won't be let down.

I had some fps drops in various spots (down to 20ish), something you wouldn't expect from a game like this. I am running an i5-2500k with a 290x.

If you want a peak at gameplay you can check out my video, but i strongly suggest you give this story a shot on your own.

I've been waiting a long time for this. One of my favorite games growing up, Grim Fandango cleverly mixes Neo-Noir with Mexican/Aztec Folklore. You play Manny Calavara, travel agent at the Department of Death. You help the recently deceased get to where they need to go. But not all is well in this town as Manny finds himself in the middle of conspiracy and corruption. His ticket out of there is on the loose, and he needs to track her down.

The remastered version brings new high-res character textures, dynamic lighting, a live symphony orchestral soundtrack, dev commentary and the fact that it actually works on modern OS's.

The game is still 4:3, but you can stretch it to 16:9 as the backgrounds did not get remade (though not recommended). The high-res character textures certainly bring Manny back to life, but perhaps don't do as much for secondary characters.

The real treat is getting to hear this fantastic soundtrack with a live symphony. This is truely one of the all time greats, and it weaves in and out of the quirky visuals to deliver an immersive experience.

Movie fans should take note of this game, as it mixes elements from classics like The Maltese Falcon and Casablanca with Brazil.

If you've played the original, this is worth picking up to relive the amazing soundtrack in its new life.

If you dont enjoy a slow paced game, or typical point & click puzzles, this may not be the game for you.

Game is pretty much as-advertised. It's a crazy laugh for a little while, with hilarious achievements that encourage you to go where no goat has gone before. Some of the bugs are indeed hilarious (dat neck...). You can pretty much shelf this one right next to games like Santa's Rampage. Only i suspect Goat Simulator will have a longer shelf-life once the steam workshop gets some content.

Worth the $2, but you need to know what you are going to get. This is more like a small level of a larger game. Don't go in expecting something complex, but rather light and goofy yet still challenging.

I suspect the co-op play is far more fun than single player, making the job more challenging and funny as you stumble into each other. The co-op play works similar to Terraria where you have to forward port 7777 on your router.

Keeo in mind that this *is* a level of a larger game that is in Alpha. This makes it buggy, especially for the person logging onto the host. Over time, she couldnt see me, her hands, mop and other items. Eventually she couldnt interact with anything at all. And since there is no save option, this made completing the game difficult. The dev has said that the co-op mode is still indevelopment and to expect things like this.

And lastly, there are some game breaking bugs: some items fall through the floor preventing you from completing the game and getting certain achievements. the good news is there are cheats to get by this:

Go into the console (tilde key)
type "Ghost" this will allow you to fly through objects, like the floor
If you can not grab the object, type "killnearestmess"

This should help you get by some of the bugs.
