This is by far, one of the most thorough and impressive "D&D" like games out there in terms of depth in abilities, classes, and races. The good story is a nice touch as well.

All of the information is overwhelming at first when leveling up or hell even building a character, or really the entire time you play. Expect 1/4 of the hours you put in to the game to actually be time spent reading and understanding skills and passives.

Once you figure it out, exceptionally rewarding.

The game itself I actually find to be pretty fun. That being said, the game is meant to highlight the co-op experience.

The player base isn"t that large on the game, as such it takes an average of 5 min to match make (that"s with cross play enabled) to get in a match where the enemies are teleporting, I can"t complete the objectives because I can"t interact with anything due to the poor match connection, and those are my biggest issues not including the game crashing sometimes (even when a disconnect occurs, you still keep the items you picked up etc, so it makes me a bit less tilted about it.)

The core game play is enjoyable in solo, but I bought to play a co-op game, and co-op is pretty rough right now.

I hope to see the devs keep working on the game and making it better though, I might try it again in the future depending on that.

The combat is probably the most janky out of any game to have ever been created.

Attacking a zombie is seemingly dependent on RNG. Are you going to hit it? Or are you going to turn a swift 180 to perfectly let the zombie you should have hit, attack you from behind?

The combat system desperately needs a rework.

It"s good for crafting and looting, but don"t get this thinking there is going to be a zombie killing experience that the mechanics won"t actively sabotage you on.

It can be infuriating, but it can also be fun.

As long as you aren"t overly competitive the chances of you getting as infuriated as me when I play this game is incredibly low and you"ll have more of a fun time than not.

The release, could have gone better....

That being said I put 60 hours in before any patches were rolled out because I genuinely enjoy the game.

It doesn"t have everything CDPR hyped it up to have, and I"m not going to make excuses for them regarding it either.

What I will say is that I have faith in the company to keep working on it, as has been indicated they are doing in the patches released. I think if someone gets the game now, they will be surprised how much time they put in the game just exploring the scenery and atmosphere alone, and probably will find enjoyment in the game itself.

Because the amount of time I actively put in the game before any patches were pushed out, I am recommending it.

This game, is an absolute masterpiece. Eye candy aside, it"s extremely rare that in a game have I ever not wanted to skip through the credits. Play the game all the way through, do as many quests as you can, and when you finish the game you"ll, well you"ll understand this positive review.

It"ll probably be everything you"ll ever want in an RPG, and this is just early access. 50+ hours, and still going to be playing more.

It"s a dark souls game, you either like the genre or don,t I do, and would recommend it to anyone that likes a challenging but rewarding experience.

10 Dec 2021 Review Update
Disclaimer: This review edit will be shorter than previous ones, changed from "not recommended" to "recommended".

All I did was stop playing PvP as much as I was. Since spending more time in PvE content since the last review update, it would only be fair to give the recommendation based on that metric. The ACTUAL initial price for a new player to get in Destiny 2 (all content) is steep, that"s the only thing that is hurting it. That being said, there is a very effective loot loop to keep you engaged for end game activities. Based on my hours played, I"ve apparently been stuck in the loop for a while. If you want a good co-op PvE game to play with friends, this can help to fill that want for quite a while.

Disclaimer: This review is mainly for players looking for competitive PvP experiences

120RPM hand canons are killing PvP almost as hard as stasis is. The game isn"t balanced in PvP, and if you are good at PvP there is zero amount of crucible at this point that feels enjoyable, and it feels entirely like a misery inducing chore that makes you want to uninstall the game. That same feeling can equally be applied to gambit.

There is no saving grace in this game anymore, do not download, do not support these developers, and actively be against their employment to any other game company in the future as they will inevitably ruin any bright possibilities a game can hope to have too. These are not the same people who made halo, this is a refurbished studio with complacent heads and employees that do not care about the enjoyment factor of their game and instead capitalize on the gullibility of consumers. This company has not changed in 10 years, and has only gotten significantly worse.

The content creators lie to you because their livelihoods completely rely on making destiny content, keeping you just informed enough on the most efficient grinds for the most unrewarding loot, or optimal builds for sub-optimal content, all the while intentionally ignoring the state of the game. If the content creators weren"t getting paychecks for exclusively making positive content on destiny, maybe the devs would pull their heads out of their a**es and start making the game what it could be, enjoyable, fun, and rewarding. Presently it is in a worse state than anthem ever was.

I still cannot recommend, even more so now. stasis is ruining the entire PvP experience along with the over abundance of special ammo.

DO YOU WANT A GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD? You"re in luck. If you have a quickdraw/snapshot roll shotgun, bad positioning, getting flanked, or simply being a bad player is a thing of the past! Soar to new KD heights with an instant swap to a shotgun.

STILL NOT SOLD? How about this, as an added extra, Bungie will give you multiple abilities to *get this get this* not just slow your enemies, but to FREEZE THEM ENTIRELY!!

In Destiny 2 skill ceilings are a thing of the past when you have an ever expanding skill floor crashing through it.

1. I do recommend this for PvE content.
2. I do NOT recommend this game because I prefer PvP in games over PvE. So if you are the same, further in depth below

- Good PvE game. If you like PvE then I can recommend this especially for free to play. However don"t expect something nearly as in depth as Warframe is.

-Overall not recommending it because PvP is the true end game content (in my opinion) and it has been in a sorry state for a long time and has only gotten worse since their most recent sandbox update. Playing in the most non competitive way possible is rewarded by netting you the most kills with the least amount of effort.
*There is a thing called "heavy ammo" and someone will ALWAYS have it. Dying to it sometimes would alright, but when you are a better than average player that isn"t full stacking in pubs, dying from heavy will be predominantly the majority of your deaths.
*Weapons recently got tuned to have major damage falloff which from face value might sound acceptable, so then weapons can play at their intended ranges. The issue is, pulse rifles effectively have no range fall off in the majority of maps and the have the some of the best time to kill in the game, with some of the best flinch (how bad it shafts the person ADS"ing shooting at you). Hand Canons used to be able to somewhat compete with them before the damage fall off patch, but now they effectively can"t, then the ranges hand canons were reined in to be in, is also home to submachine guns (exclusively the sub called recluse which is the most busted in the game, no player that wants to win would use another sub machine gun over it) as well as shotguns. Most ranges/angles that hand canons cover, a person with a shotgun can close the distance and easily kill you.

Which brings me to the final mention. There is primary, special, and heavy ammo type of weapons. Just about all special ammo weapons are capable of one shotting, and people will always have that. Primary gun fights happen maybe 30% of the time. 20% heavy. 50% special.

- Gambit which is a PvE and PvP hybrid is probably the most fun I"ve had in any game mode, WHEN people don"t invade/invade counter with heavy weapons, super, or a special weapon called Izanagi which is a special ammo type (extremely common drop in gambit) that"s hitscan and can one hit any other player at any range without a precision hit. If they ever implement a bare bones gambit where simply heavy and supers are locked out upon invades (for both invader and invaded) I would probably recommend this game for the gambit mode alone.

Summary: If you are looking for a competitive PvP experience you will not find it here as things currently are and sandbox changes are on average bi-yearly or quarterly so broken and exploitable things are ruining various PvP experiences and the player base for those modes start to dwindle considerable for that reason.
