It's fun and I frequently feel an itch to play this game but the combat is often unsatisfying (whiffing feels constant) and the mechanics are somewhat inscrutable.

Don't bother unless going for halo completionism

2 is the best of the trilogy but I think 3 is serviceable despite criticism, as long as you take the game as what it presents to you rather examining how your story compares to others.

Relaxing and methodic, broken up occasionally by moments of adrenaline as you try not to blow up.

Sorta rogue-lite in progression. Losing a "run" never feels devastating.

The story is memorable with a good message about labor organization but kinda heavy-handed at times.

Starts off as an exploration game, slowly transitions into a puzzle game as you near the finish.

The world is fascinating and vast in theme if not literally.

I'm impressed with the dev's creative use of space, constantly hiding secrets just out of view. The ship mechanics are also very fun.

I did find some of the puzzles to be rather unaccessible, often I felt like there was no way for me to find the solution just through logic - there was guesswork involved.

Overall a strong recommend.

The pinnacle of whatever genre you want to put this in. I wish there were ten more games exactly like it.
