I prefer violent games filled with blood, gore, and a good sense of humour. If you have ever worked in any sort of customer service field, you automatically get why.

Friend requests: I don't do PvP/MOBA gaming (nothing against it, i just suck at it) so please do not try and friend me for PvP/MobA games because I don't play PvP/MOBA at all. in fact I am so busy with work that I mostly play solo these days as a way to unwind after work. If on the other hand you just want another gamer to talk to about whatever, by all means friend me. Just don't expect me to game together much if at all.

Favourite Steam Games: Mass Effect 2, Heroes of Might and Magic V, Disciples III, Zombie Army 4

Side note: I am a HUGE horror game and movie fan so if it is horror, i have probably played it and probably have it currently installed as you read this. I have well over 400 horror games on steam from indie to mainstream and mild to hardcore horror, so i decided not to try and list them here. If you want to know, ask. :coolthulhu:

Favourite Food Genre: Chinese (Traditional, not American Chinese)

Age: 41

Anything else, ask.

This game plays very similarly to other games of this genre like Grim Dawn, Titan Quest, and Diablo II. the main differences that sets this apart are as follows:

1: Dialogue. Not just from the occasional npc but from you and your companion as well, sometimes just as happy or weird banter when you are in the middle of nowhere. Which brings me to point.

2: No matter where you are, you will be swarmed with beasts etc to a level that the term 'bullet hell' could almost be applied. Its wave after wave of monsters every oh, 10 steps or so. Sometimes even less. This can make the game very challenging, so to pass to anywhere else successfully, you need to plan your pulls of monsters. If you are new to games of this genre or simply want to be able to mindlessly burn through everything in your path- give this one a pass, as it will be much harder than what you are looking for even on the easiest setting it has.

3. You can choose to be a Warrior, Mage, or Engineer. You cannot choose your gender in this game, but at least here there is a story linked reason so I wont put this as a con.

4: Easter eggs everywhere! If you are a fan of the old classic horror movies and books, you will find a ton of Easter eggs here. Worth getting the game for classic horror fan gamer types like myself if only for the nostalgia love this provides. Lugosi river, anyone?

Now for the cons:

None of these cons are an actual fail point, or I would not be recommending the game.I am only putting them here for the sake of transparency:

1: Skill and level up system is about as cliched as it gets. So many games use this exact same style for this exact same genre that you don't really need to do much learning here ( which again may be good or bad depending on you experience level with this type of game). This features the same style as
Hellgate: London, Titan Quest , Diablo 2, and on and on. Again if you are new to these types of games this will be a good thing. For old hands used to these types of games, this will be a bit depressing but will not interfere with the actual gameplay itself.

2: Graphic drain - no seriously. If you have a lower end pc, even with the age of this game you will still likely want t go into options and turn the video quality way down. That is unless you want to wait 3-5 minutes every time you switch areas looking at the (admittedly pretty map design) loading screen. If your CPU is low quality, save yourself the waiting time and turn that as low as it will go. The graphics themselves are old enough that this will not make a ton of difference. If you have a good or great pc, ignore this point as it will not apply to you in any way.

Other notes:

These are not good or bad, but just side notes to do with as you will:

1. Sound. You get the music, you get the environmental sounds, you get the battle noises. You get the occasional quip or witty banter. Not bad or Stellar, just a thing the game has. The game does have full Subtitles for the hearing impaired (or folks like myself who want to be able to read what is said in case the sound of battle makes me miss part of it), so that would be a positive but again this is fairly standard in every rpg so its remaining just as a note of interest.

2. Loot. the loot here is what you have seen in pretty much every similar rpg. It does have some account bound items but as most are playing this game solo or co opp, this is not really relevant one way or the other either. Just another note of interest.

3. Quests and Side Quests: Side quests are usually same areas you need to pass through for the main quests. (I have yet to get one that sent me clear to the other side near where I started out for example). Escort, killing, and gathering quests are all classic rpg fodder.

4. Quests that you didn't know were quests! Here is one that enough other games have its staying just a note of interest, but would otherwise be a positive: Quests that you were not given do exist, along with achievements. I will list here what one of them is but not how to do it avoid any accusations of spoilers: Frog statues which lead to 2 unique bosses, which each have an achievement when you kill them. There are others but again I won't give anything away so the special snowflakes among us won't cry.

Summary: Worth getting if you love these types of rpg games and want a challenge rather than the usual just hack and slash your way through. Time those pulls or you will become monster chow in abut 10 seconds or less. If you want a easy rpg with no real thought needed, give this one a pass. It is not meant for you.

If you're wanting to get into CK II I'd highly suggest getting the main DLC's for it as well. It's almost not worth playing anymore unless you do. Of course that's not a bad thing. It's simply because each DLC adds soooooo much to it, its crazy. Otherwise I'd be happy to teach you Crusader Kings II.
