You become a masochist because nearly every blown up rocket, plane, lander, silly contraption, etc, will result in the death of a Kerbal. Kerbals are living humanoids that are green and have way to big of heads (figuratively AND literally). You're killing off these cute little guys, who have their own names, and you will end up laughing about it. Highly recommended.
