When I bought Imperator: Rome, I found it to be a very shallow and boring game, I believe I put in a total of 9 hours into it and had to uninstall it. Then I tried my luck a year later just to be disapointed again. Most would agree that it was quite a mediocre game at that time.

But then the 2.0 update dropped and made me waste the better part of the day playing this game, I'd even say it's one of my favourite Paradox games now and though there's still much work for the devs ahead, it's already one of the best civilization-building games out there! Yes, the games finally has molded its own identity, the 2.0 update brought in many needed changes!

Though, while I saw some people complain about the micro-managment part of the game, I personally love it and believe it's one the aspects that makes the game engaging and immersive, nevertheless there are some annoying issues I had with it. But overall, I love where the devs are going with this game and I'd recommend everyone to give it another shot!

Oh and don't forget to keep an eye on your forts! If your income nosedives after conquering new land, it's most likely because of the forts you just acquired!

Absolute chad of a game. One of my all time favourites.
All these years later after its release, it still manages to be one of the most played games on steam consistently, I checked the steam statistics today and active player-wise, the game is sitting comfortably in the top 30 and it's not even a multiplayer title!

An absolutely amazing game and the music in this game is a wonderful enhancement.

Note that this game is random, I made one of my gladiators a badass who almost always one-hit killed everyone in the arena, I guess I got lucky, I tried to make other gladiators this godly, but they all died eventually. With that one bad ass gladiator, I defeated all the local champions, all of them.

First time I played this game, I had no idea what to do, I had to experiment a lot, later on, during my second run, I'd say I got the hang of the game. So I'd recommend to watch a tutorial video on youtube, as the in-game tutorial doesn't explain a lot to you, though for me it was enough to get started, but I've seen people complain about the tutorial, as it doesn't explain enough on how the game works.

Early Access Review
This game has like 4 maps and It's full of glitches. It's a modded garry's mod standalone game.

It's cancer. 10/10

The best game that was made by Rockstar, in my opinion, many would disagree. I've completed this game so many times and memorised a lot of things: missions, spawn points of guns, car locations, the whole map, lots of dialogue, etc. To be fair, this game never gets old, nor does it get repetetive and it's always fun to replay it.

Magnum opus/10.
