Velvet Sundown is an enjoyable video game. How's that for a hot take? The voice creator (whatever the name for it is) works as the perfect catalyst for yacht hijinks. Velvet Sundown is at its best when all of the players are creative and working towards the given objectives--which depend on the character assigned to you. Playing the game with friends is recommended, but can be just as enjoyable with random players. The narrative in the game isn't strong, nor are the "standard" video game mechanics. That being said there are very few games I've had more fun with than Velvet Sundown. There were times I laughed til I cried and could laugh no more. Velvet Sundown is a unique experience and I recommend checking it out.

Grow Home is a fun little 3D platformer. The climbing mechanics in the game are original but not fantastic. I've heard the game picks up when Bud unlocks the jet pack but I grew tired of the game before I had that chance. There is no debate about the quality of its art design, though, it's great. If you want a quaint indie platformer that's low on narrative but high on originality and design I'd recommend checking it out. Personally, I seem to be one of the few people out there that didn't find the game incredibly entertaining or enduring, but I would recommend checking it out even if you're just thinking about it. For its price, it's definitely worth a shot.
(I played the game on PS4 so I don't have the minutes logged on Steam, in case anyone wondered.)

Spec Ops: The Line is an enjoyable third person shooter. The game mechanics are solid and as a result the cover-based shooting feels incredibly natural. Spec Ops is at its best when the fluid game movement is showcased in gorgeous action set pieces. The graphics are fantastic, this is as true in 2016 as it was at release. What truly puts Spec Ops above the run-of-the-mill third person action shooter is its story and disturbingly realistic depiction of the brutalities of war. The story is based off of two other works: the novel, Heart of Darkness, and the classic film Apocalypse Now--which was also based off of Heart of Darkness. War and the decisions it forces humans to make are the heart of the story. The game is incredibly graphic, which the developers use in their favor. Not once did I think the game was graphic for the sake of being graphic. Each moment that incited shock felt horrifically natural and succeced in blurring the lines of morality--as war has done and will continue to do. A standard run through of the game will take around 10-15 hours, but that can be extended through collecting all of the Intel or playing on the unlockable FUBAR difficulty. All said and done, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Spec Ops: The Line. I definitely recommend checking it out especially if it's on sale. The multiplayer community is, for all intents and purposes, dead, which is to be expected at this point, so if you're looking to check that out it's not going to happen. The campaign, always the focus of the game, is strong enough on its own to leave any player satisfied even without the multiplayer.

TL;DR: Fantastic narrative, solid cover shooter, would recommend.

Do I recommend this game? Do I recommend eating a fine steak dinner over a glass of Ireland's finest whiskey? You're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right. If you don't at least attempt to play Fallout: New Vegas you're a disgrace to mankind...or at least less of a gamer. Buy this game and forward this review to ten other people or a deathclaw will kill someone you love.
