I don’t think I’ll be able to describe how amazing and fun this game is, but dammit, I am going to try.

First of all, I feel like I need to thank Mimimi Productions, Daedalic Entertainment and every soul who worked on the creation of this piece of art. It was indescribably fun from the beginning to the end.

There are too many good things to count in this game. Amazing characters, unique abilities, gorgeous environment, solid voice acting, fluid gameplay, a good story... The list goes on. The best thing is, somehow it never gets repetitive, even when you’re trying to get one annoying achievement and literally repeating the same thing over and over. Each and every mission is filled with awe inspiring, neh, awe-gazmic (Is that even a word? Well, it is now!) sceneries from places of Edo Period of Japan (of course they are not 0 accurate, but should they be?). Supported by the great voice acting (Japanese voice acting in this instance, I haven’t checked the other languages yet), the chemistry between the characters is taken to a whole new level. And to me, that’s essential for the immersion when it comes to a real-time stealth oriented strategy game where you control multiple characters at once. Gameplay-wise, there is this mechanic where you can plan your actions and execute them all at the same time (obviously), which makes the feeling of controlling two to five characters just… Amazing.

I’ve went for all the badges (challenges) and achievements. I’ve done all the episodes as stealthy as possible, restarted the missions as soon as i’m done with them, then went in guns blazing (doesn’t always end up being the wisest of choices, but it is there). Sometimes I killed every moving-breathing thing on the map, sometimes I just focused on the target. I even tried speedruns which I usually hate. I tried tons of different approaches but one thing remained the same. And that is the fact that how much fun I had with each different run.

Is it perfect? As a person who doesn’t mind a heap of cliché that much, to me, it is. But if you’re here for “a story never been told” I cannot say you’ll get what you're looking for. It does have some expected twists and turns, some “oh, come on” moments, but those don’t break you away from the fun and excitement.

Long story short, this game touches all the right spots, even the ones you don’t know you had. I would definitely recommend everyone to purchase it with or without a sale.
