POSTIVES:

-Map Design

-Destructible world.

-Massive array of units, gear and mostly all interchangeable.

- First person when driving or third person, as well as RTS top down.

- AI control or you controil.

- Two game modes, one with a story and the other with perВот-вот, Людочка, к этому образу мы с Майей и стремилисьsistant units between battles, where you can loot the previous to gain equipment and gear for your crews and soldiers in future battles.

NEGATIVES:

-Lots of bugs, very frustrating...

-The UI is minimal, leaving a lot of lack of QOL and information needed. No sorting, etc.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

The videos are good, the voice acting is a spectrum of horrible to authentic.

The game is good enough, but lacks being fleshed out in many ways much like their previous title CALL TO ARMS which seems to have been abandoned with some glaring bugs.

All in all its positive for me, but with a slightly shady side.

The missions are good, the play control is dated and at times frustrating. The mechanics are great in resource management and capturing enemies as well as being able to play RTS or first person for specialized moments. But there are so very many bugs and a few crashes.

The game campaign story is okay for Americans, but for the global resistance it starts out much more engaging.

The real game seems to be hidden in conquest mode instead of campaign, where your units and captured vehicles can carry into future games with their stats.

My specs: 3080, 7800x3d, 32GB

Absolutely love this Total War,

Feels so much more in-depth with better AI than Shogun, which was my favorite behind Medieval 2

The family system adds so much to the game. Equipping generals in romance mode, which i wasn't sure I would like, actually brought some nice changes to game so far.

The dueling actually ads a lot to the game.

10/10 as its perfect for what it is.

Starts out very simple to teach you rules.

Relaxing music, and something you can pick up and put down as desired.

I surprised myself, mostly breezed through until C-22 and was stumped. Decided to comeback with fresh eyes after spending 5 mins going in circles.

For the price I feel I got my monies worth and enjoyed the challenge at c-22 I will hopefully figure out later.

I challenge my friends, and if you see tricks/patterns please share them.

As far as puzzle games, they are usually not my thing. I have had LYNE in my wishlist for nearly a decade and almost bought it on a number of occasions. Once I sold some CS-GO skins and had a dollar and change to spend and glad I put it here.

IF this isn't 2.99 or less, its a cash grab.

Arena, found it and beat it in 2 tries with one health potion at level 27. A few waves of enemies in an area. No real reward.

Mount was given free for everyone..

And some cosmetics.

Absolutely a joke at 19.99.

Absolutely a joke as an arena experience.

Could have made cosmetics .99 each and arena 1.99 to maximize and ethical cash.

8/10 - BOUGHT FOR $23 w/ DLC.

Engaging, beautiful, casual, and relaxing action adventure with RPG elements across a vast world filled with curiosities to explore.

Customize everything from character, wand, broom, clothing, skills, patronsus, and even personal laboratory.

Sidequests are plentiful, not overwhelming, easy to complete, however lack significant depth at times and despite the sheer number of them they are still minimally rewarding. It's a somewhat hollow yet filled world they exist in.

Main quest is fleshed enough to keep interest, however, it is exceedingly apparent it is on rails during gameplay.

Loot system is shallow and lazy. (SO many chests, many behind puzzles, none unique, often nearly worthless)

Overall, due to the missing experience of a truly open-ended RPG experience, I give it an 8 because It's done very well for what it is. I feel for the price I paid, I got full value out of it even in the first 5 hours of play.

WE ARE STILL AWAITING A REAL POTTER RPG.

10/10

I am pretty sure I was laughing the entire time I was losing to my near-inhuman response time android-brained friend.

When losing, you are given bonuses at the end of the round. This creates more interest in the next round partly for curiosity and partly because now I have additional ways to kill myself.

Worth it.

Immersive deep dive into feeling like you actually lead a war to defend Earth from alien control.

-RNG misses at 90% hit rate over and over.

REVIEW:

-Is it worth buying at full price, YES.

-After playing the game, I have opened the store page a few times without really thinking about doing so, I think it is because I miss the feeling of the world it immersed me in, and because of this, I admire Expeditions Rome as a beautiful work of art. The experience was emotional, and it has stayed with me after I completed it, grieving that my time with characters like Bestia as Legatus Brandon is over.

-This game is truly amazing, though a few blaring and frustrating deficits pull you from the otherwise wonderful experience.. However, the overall experience of the game is excellent.

-One of the best isometric RPGs I have ever played, including out of the entire BG series, and I would place this in my top three including, BG3 and Icewind Dale, and now Rome Expeditions.

-I enjoyed the strategic addition to the rpg experience giving the feel of both the big and small aspects of the campaign across multiple theaters of war. There is something about being able to take the cities, level up your legion, and how your playable characters can influence the larger, broader aspect of the stratigic map that really set this title apart earning its spot in my top three.

-The story was surprisingly engaging and made the battles have meaning. The character development brought a camaraderie between my avatar and my main characters. Many games attempt this, but it is often superficial. Expeditions isn't as deep as BG3, but it exceeds most other highly rated CRPG experiences

-I loved the crafting aspect of the game, randomized loot, and perks of characters and gear.

-My only significant complaint would be a few moments the story choices feel very forced and do not fit the role-playing theme of your previous choices. Many others have voiced these specific instances in their complaints in reviews and discussions.

-Minor complaint, I didn't really ever fully grasp the mechanics of my centurions leveling their 3 battle skills. I didn't understand when to upgrade gear vs. break it down and reforge it.

DEAR DEVELOPER:
BUG:

Originally played on GAMEPASS a year ago, got stuck on GOLDENWOLF talk to Luna objective.. I submitted a bug report directly on their website. Was notified steam version was updated with the patch that claims to have fixed said bug. This also would allow me to import my gamepass save to steam as before they were different versions. After a year of waiting bought for steam, and loaded many saved games and the LUNA bug was still present. Reloaded personal saves from before I arrived to bugged area where I am trapped on local map and ran into the exact same problem. It clearly is not patched entirely. Lost over 30 hours as I had to restart and while the game is good no one wants to waste their time and this is a wide enough problem it should be fixed. My concern was, WHAT IF I RUN INTO IT AGAIN?

Note to Iron Man players, that is a risk I wouldn't take. Note to all players. Save all the time.

Anyhow I restarted, and I love the game and bug did not trigger. Maybe it is patched for new games only.

This is well made, and fun for me even though it is not my usual type of game.

Love the RPG mechanics tied to the puzzle battle.
